1) my dogs feet was exactly 2.5 and i debated getting this pair or the 1 size up...i decide to get this one and they fit perfect to size no need for a size up like i was worried about 2) to help.. on the package for my size small that i got the breeds listed on the package says: beagle, boston terrier, fox terrier, french bulldog, jack russell, shetland sheepdog, and shiba inu....(I have a shiba inu and was shocked they were even listed since they aren't a well known breed wish this was listed on the information on these shoes cause it wouldn't have taken me 2 days to decide what size to get) 3) i use these because my dog has allergies to something in or on the grass out here in japan and she was chewing her feet til the bleed and no meds were working from the vet...so i tried this and it has stopped the itching and i love that they are cheap and all. For my dog they are a little bit of a pain to take on and off just to go outside to play or potty but for me its worth it than spending $100s on allergy meds 4) i tried to leave them on for the whole day at first for her to get use to them and noticed she was panting HARD..checked her feet and they were burning up...they don't breath so i don't recommend keeping them on too long..dogs release heat from their feet thats why you see dogs in summer dipping their paws in water to cool themselves down. We took off the shoes and 5-10 mins later her panting had stopped and her feet weren't on fire no more. 5) i have been using the same pair now for over a month and still no holes so they last long. 6) i also bought an expensive nice pair and she hates those and never wants to walk right in them...these it only took her 1/2 day to get use to them and walk properly again. she still tries to shake them off the first few seconds they go on but after that she runs and plays and forgets they are on. I think it does make a big difference that she can feel the ground through this thin material and her toes can spread out like normal on the ground. 7) works VERY well to keep the feet dry and mud free when letting outside to potty when its raining saves me time not having to wipe her feet when she comes in, just got to pull off the shoes.

I don’t think I’ve ever given a one star rating before, but this product deserves it. I bought a set of these for my male Belgian Tervuren, about a 70 pound dog. I had him stand on paper, drew lines in front of his claws and just behind his rear pad, measured the distance (3 5/8 inches) and followed the fitting advice to order the LARGE size. This size is for Akitas, Labs, etc. The balloon part is fine - there is enough room for his paw. HOWEVER (big problem alert), the neck of the boot is so tight that a) it takes two people to put it on his paw and b) it hurts his leg because of the constriction - he holds his paws up and tries not to stand on them, and c) it’s very difficult to pull the boots off the paws once you finally get them on because the neck is SO tight. Perhaps I got a defective set, but this product is of zero use for me. I have no idea what these were made for - baby giraffes? Seriously, the ankles on these things are so much too small that it’s laughable. UPDATE: I wrote to the Pawz company about this but nobody has responded. I wanted to say to those of you who have the same problem we did that if you cut the tops of the boots off just below the lip it becomes workable, at least it did for us. The boots can then be put on by one person (although women might have more trouble than men due to the hand strength issue - I'm a guy and I didn't have any trouble) and the boots do not fall off on a long walk. I can't speak to how they stay on with active play or work because we don't do that with this older dog. I am leaving my review at one star because this is an issue the company really needs to address, even if it is in such a basic way as to inform customers via some text on the label. The boots do seem to work once you alter them, and when they work they should get a better review than I am giving them, but...they are really awful straight out of the box and the company's response to my inquiry was terrible, as in non-existant. Pawz needs a wakeup call, so my rating stands. Just know what you are getting in to.

No way. These cheap booties are too good to be true! Bought these because my dog started running her paws raw. She loves running, but her paws just can't take that abuse from concrete. I tried getting her to just run alongside me in the grass, but she wouldn't have it! Fine, you wanna run on the concrete, then you get dorky dog boots! I looked at more expensive "shoe like" boot options with rubber soles, laces/velcro, tread, etc... but had a few reservations: will they fit her paw right? Will they stay on? Will she even tolerate wearing them? They were so expensive, I was hesitant to try any of them. Despite these being a multi-pack, this seemed like the best bang for my buck, and alleviated all of my reservations about the more traditional looking dog boots. I don't think I'll ever buy a "real shoe" for my dog. I've done twelve runs with these boots now, all about 3 miles in length. The first time we put them on, she stumbled around the house in a hilarious manner, and I was happy I hadn't spent more money on these boots that were sure to be a failure (not by their design, just my dog being an adorable, intolerable dork). Hilarious stumbling aside, I didn't drop that cash for nothing, and she was going to try them for a run, darn it! Tips for first timers: At first I thought I'd be able to turn these inside out and "roll" these on to her foot, but the opening at the ankle was too tight. That definitely wasn't going to work. I put a treat in front of the dog, had her "leave it" (which for her means, stare and drool at the treat until hooman gives the "OK!"), and used both my hands to stretch the boot open. I then picked up her paw and fanangled it inside of the boot. I recommend keeping a finger in the boot while you slide it on so you can squeeze any air out before letting go entirely, otherwise you can get a "balloon foot" effect that... probably causes no ill effects, but it sure looks goofy. Anyway, after parading around the house in her dorky boots, we hit the trails. As soon as we arrived at our usual running path with our usual running buddy, she forgot they were even on and the confused walking subsided. They make an adorable "pit pat" noise as she runs. They absolutely stay put if I've put them on properly. I once found that I didn't quite get her foot to the bottom of the boot, and it caught on the concrete causing her to stumble. Her paws were happy as could be after the run - no bleeding!! Yay!! She doesn't beg for them to come off after a run, either, so I'm pretty sure they're comfortable. I keep her nails trimmed well (and keep a closer eye on her nails, now that they aren't being worn down by the concrete so much), and have yet to puncture or run through a boot. That's AT LEAST 36 miles of running in those boots with no failures. Amazing. For the price, I'll definitely be buying more whenever the time comes, and I don't expect it to be soon. I can't imagine a way that a "real boot" is superior... maybe if warmth is a concern? She still walks around like an idiot when I put these on every morning on carpet (see attached video - please forgive the darkness, it's 4:30 in the morning), but once running has commenced, she absolutely forgets they are there and walks/runs like normal. 10/10, will recommend to anyone who wants to embarrass their sensitive-pawed dog in front of all of their furry friends. I bought the large size and my dog weighs 50-55 pounds.

These are neither as crappy, nor as fantastic as the more extreme reviews seem to indicate. They are basically galoshes for dogs -- like the rubber galoshes people (used to) wear over their shoes to protect them in the rain. The package says "12 Reusable/Disposable Boots," so there's your hint. For my dog and for me, they have been pretty great so far. Follow sizing instructions on their official web site. I did, and I got Pawz that fit my dog (Large, 3-4"). (He's an English Pointer, about 48 lb.) The top cuff is not too tight; it did not cut off circulation. The bottom part accommodates my dog's paws and his untrimmed nails. There is room on all sides. Maybe that means they are too big. But if I had a size smaller, I'm not sure I could get them on his paws. Updated 1/20/15: I've been walking my dog in these 2-3x day since I got them 1/11/15. I never use the same set twice in a row. I rotate through each set (there were 3 sets of four in the package -- you get 12, total). After each walk, I dry the set I just used on the radiator. The last several days, the weather here (Chicago) warmed up. So now, in addition to the remaining snow, there are puddles of water, mud... and more exposed rock salt. My dog is completely used to the Pawz now. At first I used freeze dried liver treats to get him to comply. Now I only intermittently reward him, and he's fine with it. He doesn't love putting them on, but he puts up with it. Going for walks without his feet hurting seems to be reward enough now. These dog galoshes have made my life easier, too: instead of the mud he would otherwise have tracked into the house, I just pull off his Pawz while he's on the porch -- and he walks into the house with clean feet! I let them dry on the radiator. When it's time for his next walk, I use a dry set I used two or three walks ago. None of the 12 have broken yet. If you dog does not normally like you to touch/handle his paws &/or he is not docile/trained/compliant, Pawz may not work for you and your dog. Caveat: I only took my dog walking on concrete sidewalks, alleys, and lawns. He never ran full out (except up and down the concrete steps of my porch). I would not use these for a dog that will be tearing around a yard in a full-out run, or running in a heavily wooded area, or over rough terrain. For my purposes (suburban walks in the cold over snowy/icy/salty as well as wet, dirty, muddy sidewalks, streets and lawns), these work great. For longer walks, a faster pace, or actual forest or rough terrain, I would go with the Ultra Paws Rugged Dog Boots. I got a pair of those and I really like them. But -- my dog adjusted to *these* Pawz dog "galoshes" much faster than to the Rugged Dog Boots.

I bought these specifically because we needed waterproof protection that wouldn't immediately slide off during a burst of puppy energy. The Good -Actually stays on: Unlike traditional booties with Velcro straps that get kicked off in thirty seconds, these stay put. They are the only thing on the market that has successfully stayed on her foot. -Keeps paws dry: It creates a complete waterproof seal. -Easy to put on solo: You don't need a second person to wrangle the dog while putting it on. The Bad -Literally just a balloon: The material is thin, tears easily, and after a single use, the top rolls down and sticks to itself. -Tight around the leg: The opening at the top is quite small and constrictive, so you can only leave it on for very short periods without worrying about cutting off circulation. -Zero heat protection: Because it’s so thin, it offers no barrier against hot pavement. Testing it with my fingers inside on asphalt in high-80s weather, I could feel the heat right through it. Verdict: Not great, not terrible. I really wish it was a higher-quality, thicker design, but given that it’s the only product that actually stays on my puppy's foot and keeps her injury dry, it serves its temporary purpose.

I have an English Bull Terrier with two major feet problems: 1) Her claws point into the ground, causing her pain walking on ashphalt, gravel, rough sidewalks.... any hard, rough surfaces. It's difficult to see, and we simply can't go certain routes because of it. Even on smooth sidewalks there wasn't a single walk she wouldn't hit a little rock or something, stumble, then lift her foot in pain. 2) She has terrible grass and pollen allergies that have caused her to chew her feet raw. It has been so bad they bled and caused her to limp. It's absolutely miserable for her. For the foot pain, we have tried tons of dog shoes and socks, but they all come off in less than a block. We made our own solution, but to keep them on they had to be so tight they caused rope burn, so that wasn't viable. We even had her claws cauderized twice in the hopes that she would be able to walk without pain across streets and bumpy surfaces, but the nerves grew back both times. For the allergies, we've tried 1-4 feet washings per day with medicated shampoo, medicated foot wipes, frequent colloidal oatmeal foot soaks.... everything. And we finally resorted to prescription medications for the itching, which made her lethargic. It's always just been a constant battle with both issues, and with minimal improvement, until we discovered PAWZ. The Pawz Boots solved BOTH problems right away. I knew they would stop the allergies by preventing her feet from coming into contact with grass and other plants, and they work great in that regard. They also keep her feet dry, which is nice on those rainy days. But I was elated to see that they also provide enough material between her paws and the substrate that she has no pain on our walks anymore. When she crossed a street before, she hobbled slowly and I sometimes had to carry her (45 lbs, not fun). People were always feeling sorry for her, and it was sad because she just wanted to trot along in that adorable jaunty Bull Terrier way. Now she RUNS across ashphalt and other surfaces that were painful for her without even a sign of discomfort. I can't even express how happy I am to see her running with her buddies and never falling behind from hobbling in pain anymore. No more sad looks from passers by, no more breaking my back carrying her porkbutt across the street, and no more sudden jolts of pain over every tiny pebble! AND THEY STAY ON!!!!! They really do stay on through running, playing, rough housing, zoomies, bulldozing through bushes, hucklebutting, snow, rain, puddles.... I've never even had to adjust them during an outing, either. Each pair has lasted about 6-10 uses for us. We walk about 75% on sidewalks for about 3 miles per day, and 25% running off leash and playing on grass and other park substrates. I think that's pretty good! I did eventually buy the Jawz tool for putting the boots on, and I highly recommend it if you use Pawz often. With Jawz, it literally takes about 60 seconds to put all 4 boots on my pupper. It makes the process much more comfy for the dog, too. In summary, Pawz are fantastic, and in my case they have fixed issues that have literally affected my puppers quality of life. No more insane foot chewing, and no more hobbling in pain for my little monster! 😄

Ordered a pack of these in January to try for our Standard Poodle, Cooper, but we had warm weather and didn't try them until now, January 2025. His feet are shaved and when it's super cold he'll end up limping from ice forming between his toes. We also have a Golden Retriever whose feet aren't bothered by the ice and snow. The two of them love being outside and spend a few hours out each day. We had our first real snow today so grabbed our pack of Pawz. It took two of us to get them on, but we found a hack for a super easy, one-person way to put them on if we decide to keep using them (go to YouTube and search "how to put latex boots on a dog" and the first video shows the PVC pipe hack). Our Golden, Shadow, always wants what the other dog has and kept offering us his paw, so we put them on him as well. 😂 We were all set to video the crazy walk every dog has and were super disappointed. They both tore out into the snow, prancing and racing in their boots, showing them off, not bothered by them at all. They went through their normal routine, running around the yard. Speeding up the hill to the neighbor's fence to say hello to the neighbor dogs. Running down our long, steep driveway to say hello to the mailman and get a treat from him. Running around the house to run the wild turkeys out of the yard. The Pawz didn't do very well. After 30 minutes both dogs had blown out every boot on their foot. First their nails poked through. Now, both dogs get their nails cut and dremeled every 6 weeks. They aren't overly long (don't click on the floor). Then they ripped down the bottom. Front paws first, back paws within 10 minutes after that. So, should we buy them again? They kept the dogs feet warm, even though they'd torn. And.... These are the only boots I've ever bought that didn't fall off. Major bonus. But they aren't cheap enough for disposing of after 1 wear. They might be okay for a calm walk on a leash, but for our very active 6 year-olds, they are an expensive option as a one time use. If they were available in a heavy duty boot, maybe double thickness, I'd definitely be interested.

First, I received a package that had already been opened with 5 Pawz missing, but this review is not regarding that experience- this review is for the product only. My family was going camping on an island for the weekend, so I got these for my 12 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to protect her paws from the hot sand, sharp shells, and fiberglass canoe bottom. I tried them out briefly at the house to make sure they fit her and to see if she would wear them; I found them easy to get on and off, and found that they were a bit snug around the top, but didn't seem too bad. She took to them in about 30 seconds, and was quickly darting around the house with her new traction. She seemed to love them. I thought they were perfect. Fast forward to two days later, when we used them for their intended purpose. I had them on her for about 5-6 hours, and they seemed to be holding up very well- I had just trimmed her nails, so there was no wear there. They stood up to the beach and the wooded areas of the island with no rips or tears. I was so happy they were working! Then, I noticed she was walking with a limp. I took off the Pawz to investigate, thinking maybe she got a thorn or something, and all of her little paws were so swollen! Her paw pads, toes, everything- the whole paw below the ankle where this thing covered was about twice the size they normally are. She never gave any indication at all that they were bothering her! Never whined or messed with them, never even paid them notice. I felt HORRIBLE. I didn't even consider the fact that dogs will often not give any indication when something is bothering them. She was MISERABLE for the rest of the trip- she could hardly walk, and spent most of the time hiding out under the picnic table. I carried her everywhere for the rest of the trip. It took TWO DAYS for her to stop limping and for her paw size to go back to normal. I am so worried at what lasting damage I could have caused by using these wretched things! They DID NOT seem too tight for her- in fact, I found it pretty easy to get a finger under the band to remove them. DO NOT USE THESE! These should not be on the market. If you decide the use of this product is still worth the risk of the lasting damage it could do to your beloved pup, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION to your dog's behavior while he/she is wearing them. If there is ANY indication whatsoever of adverse effects, IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUE USE!

My Parsons Russell needed a toe amputation so I hunted the internet and pet shops for a shoe/boot etc for him to use while walking. His legs are so scrawny and paws so naturally thin that I've had real trouble finding something to fit. The Mikki boot was my first choice but was unable to get it on his very delicate, poorly foot, which still had stitches. I've found the Pawz rubber balloon like socks to be ideal. I have arthritis myself in my hands and struggled for while to get to grips with putting the rubber sock on. Making sure my dog was sitting or laying quietly on the settee to make life easier for me, with his front paws hanging over the edge of the seat, I began by placing 4 fingers in the neck of the sock to pull and spread apart and slowly and gently eased his paw in, then removing my fingers to allow the sock to close neatly around his ankle part, he was ready to go. I found it not only stayed on, but stayed in place and for me, I consider each rubber sock to be thick enough to be long lasting. I think it works well because he is able to feel the ground and he walks so much better with it on. (Brief note of before the Pawz arrived - I had placed his foot and leg in a clean new poo bag and tied the handles above his elbow which helped keep the bag on his foot/leg and kept his paw from getting dirty, especially with stitches still in - so the rubber pawz socks are proving to be worth their weight in gold.) THANK YOU PAWZ. I realise they are not designed for medical protection, but in the house, his foot is free as I let the air get at it. Out of doors we simply need to keep it covered and protected.

Le temps de la convalescence et de la rééducation, ces chaussettes en forme de ballon à gonfler à la matière plus épaisse qu'un ballon, a protégé des griffes. A réception ca paraît impossible de glisser la patte dedans car l'embout est très étroit mais pour que ça ne glisse pas pendant la marche c'est bien ce qu'il faut. Il faut bien écarter l'ouverture et glisser la patte et remonter comme une chaussette.

Ich hatte für einen Boarder Collie erst M bestellt, was die richtige Größe sein sollte und ist. Aber der Bootie geht nach durchschnittlich 5km kaputt, weil die Krallen beim Laufen das Material aufreissen. Größe L hält nun schon 15+km (Tracker gemessen, gefühlt beim Toben 30km) auf einem Wechsel von Asphalt, Schotter, Wiese, Feld, Wald). Dann stimmen Preis und die Leistung. Ich hatte verschiedene Booties (Stoff), weil mein Hund hin und wieder aufgescheuerte Stellen am Ballen hat. Beim Freilaufen verliert er sie aber, was unnütz Plastik in der Natur hinterläßt und die Eisbären und Greta dann weinen. Dieser Bootie ist unverlierbar. Sitzt aber etwas stramm (Blutzirkulation?). Für 60min rausgehen/joggen reicht es. Die Pfote bleibt trocken und sauber. Eine Nummer größer heißt aber auch patsch-patsch-patsch bei jedem Tritt, wenn das lose Gummimaterial den Boden trifft. ist uns beiden aber Wurscht. Nach einer Woche ist dann der Ballen wieder verheilt. -- teuer, wenn man die korrekte Größe bestellt, weil schneller Verschleiß. Sollte ein ein-Cent Artikel sein, weil es nichts anderes als ein etwas festerer Luftballon ist. Insgesamt aber 5 Sterne, weil ich es evtl wieder bestellen werde. Ist aber nichts für den Dauereinsatz für Hygienegestörte. Das wäre Tierquälerei.
