Not worth time or money
This PLA is unusable. You have to run the extruder at 210 just to make the PLA bond to its self. If you don't print each day it will break off from the extruder. You are unable to straighten the PLA to install into the printer its just to brittle. Amazon replaced the first PLA only for the second one to have the same issues. I have not had these issues with other PLA and another printer I have next to this one has no issues with a cheaper PLA

Generally good, but they shipped the wrong stuff.
I like the less-translucent stuff better because it prints smoother. Less tendency to jam/leave a bunch of cobwebs everywhere. This isn't down to Bu-Mat, but a problem with filament in general. Natural PLA prints like butter, but when you start adding these colorants it changes the material properties - and then you get more problems with jamming, stringing, poor surface finish, etc. This red stuff does run through my hot end nearly as well as natural PLA, which is a good thing. What isn't a good thing: I ordered red, but got grey. The label they stuck on the outside of the vacuum bag says red, but the label on the actual spool says grey. I've attached photos.

The filament works fine and looks good
Since originally writing this review, I have found out better ways to use this filament. I get the best results from printing at 190C and doing it slowly. You'll need a really high infill as well. In the beginning of the roll, it was really tangled(I've also found out that this was my fault), but I haven't had one in a long while. It does print very gooey though.Below is the orgiginal 2 star review:The filament works fine and looks good. Unfortunately, every half yard is tangled and ruins a long print. If this problem could be solved it would be a cool looking and well working filament.

Runs on Makerbot Replicator 2 Very Well
The spool is different size from the one that comes with the Replicator. You may want to get an alternate spool holder. I printed a copy of the one on the following link and it worked very well: [...]It produces models comparable in quality to the ones produced with Makerbot filament at half the price. The manufacturer suggests a temperature that is lower than the one suggested for the Makerbot filament. I have found out that if I do not change the settings (still use 230C) the model sticks to the print surface. If I reduce it within the manufacturer recommended range (say 210C), the model doesn't stick well to the surface. Will try different settings later, but so far it is working best with the same defaults used for Makerbot filament.

Poor quality
This filament sputters and spurts leaving globs of extruded filament on the bed. It's not usable for much.

Transparency is very good and so far it hasn't had any knots when ...
I haven't found this filament to be as brittle as some other transparent filaments unless it gets cold. Transparency is very good and so far it hasn't had any knots when unwinding. Here's more information on the clear filament and the brittleness problem. Only the last few inches of the spool become brittle and the easiest thing to do is to unload the filament and just break off the brittle part. The white PLA does this as well and it's easy enough to work around. But I discovered a bigger problem when I reordered the clear PLA, they sent a different filament which was translucent and not transparent like the last spool (calling it "clear" is somewhat ambiguous). I kept it sealed so I could return it, but they told me it would be the same after it was heated. They were wrong, the package is now open because that's what they told me to do, and they aren't responding to my messages any more. It's too bad, the original clear was good but I don't trust the vendor and will take my business somewhere else. Be careful if you use "Shop 3D Supplies", maybe you'll get lucky, maybe you won't.

There is a difference in brands, this is a great product
BuMat makes a high quality PLA filament. I purchased a white filament from prototype supply on amazon many months ago and that filament is not nearly as good as this is. I'm going to purchase the gray color next, I'm very happy with the results I'm getting with this brand. There is a difference, the white filament isn't as consistent as the white gets stringy in places. This black also gives off a very nice shine when its done, lines are more defined and overall this is a great product.

Great clarity on this filament
Great clarity on this filament, but beware, it's very brittle. If I don't take it out of my printer immediately after use, the filament snaps wherever there is a bending pressure on it, and often this is inside the filament guide tube, and removing little chunks from the inside of a tube can take a minute or two. The results are worth the trouble though, and the printed items don't seem to share the brittleness issue.
