Review: Solid plate amp - does not do low pass or attenuation. - In use as Infiniti Sub replacement amp. This is a great plate amp for a 500W RMS sub. Especially if your speaker impedance blew out your old digital plate amp, it will handle 2ohms, no problem. Stupid strong, great range, went down to 5hz no problem. You will spend about the same amount on a regulated power supply - hard to find a 50 power supply rated at 500w for less than $100. I used a 36v (over 24v is ok) that adjusted to 40v at 10a, and it is more than enough for what this does. Sure boards are well designed, with good components. Your attenuation or low pass needs to be done at the source for this to work well, as it is a high-power digital amplifier.
