****UpdateIt is now the following winter (almost a year from putting it down) and I'm thrilled to say that no weeds came through this weed barrier. I know there are weeds because a few will pop up right where the garden meets up with the concrete. I remember before this weed barrier spending lots of afternoons pulling up weeds and they kept coming. I haven't had to do that at all this year.****Original ReviewI've never used weed barrier before but had tons of weeds in my front flower bed. This got great reviews so I thought I'd try it. When I started putting it down, my next-door-neighbor, a landscape designer, said weed barriers don't work and I shouldn't waste my time. Since I already had it and started putting it down, I kept going. It's been over 3 months, and I haven't seen any weeds at all where this is placed!! Some weeds come right at the edge by the sidewalk where there isn't coverage so I know I would still have a major weed problem if I didn't have this barrier. I've heard the weed barriers from the big box stores don't work well and maybe that is what my neighbor thought I had. I'm thrilled with this product. I covered it with black mulch and with the black barrier, you can't tell if there are shallow mulch areas. I bought the fabric staples to keep it down but don't feel those are necessary. With a 4x100 ft. roll, I have a lot left over if needed in another area.

Have had zero problems with weeds in the garden this year due to this stuff. We had pretty aggressive thistles, morning glories, and crabgrass last year, this stuff has blocked it all. Found a couple growing under the fabric in spring, noticeable by where the fabric wasn't laying properly. Rolled the fabric back, pulled up the weeds, and replaced the fabric - no further growth in over 5 months. We plan on leaving this in place over the winter to make next year even easier. Installation was a snap - laid it out, staked it down (used Palmetto Golf biodegradable stakes, highly recommended), and used a knife to cut x's where we wanted to plant. We ran soaker hoses under it, and kept everything alive and well through the hottest months this area has ever had. Beyond happy with this product.

Excellent durable product. Liked ability for water penetration while providing weed suppression. Relatively easy for one person to install ... I had to deal with an incline and under a blue spruce which was difficult at times. Adequate Overlap is important to avoid sneaky weeds growing through separation. Use ample staples to adhere fabric & overlaps. I have had a few holes from either chipmunks or squirrels so watch for these to avoid tearing or weeds growing through. I have covered the entire installed weed fabric with Preem mulch to further control aggressive weeds from returning. Professional looking result with easy install edging finishing off the job!

The package arrived as promised, although the staples ordered at the same time, didn't arrive until a day later. We found that the actual length of the product was somewhat less than the advertised 100 feet. We covered the same area last year with an inferior product measuring the same 4'x100' and this year we are far less than 3/4 of the area covered. I had to order another roll to finish the garden. It is our estimate that the acutual length of this roll is closer to 75 feet. That said it is a solid product and we look forward to it lasting throughout the summer.

This stuff is awesome. I could tell when I put it down last spring that it was hefty, but the proof came later. I had to rip up a section for a new deck section, and found that the material was just like when I took it out of the shrink wrap - no deterioration. In fact, in a spot where I used stuff from my local hardware store it had completely disintegrated in the same amount of time, and I just confidently put down the old Dewitt stuff in its place. Worth the money!

This is a 3oz mat which I did not notice when I ordered so I returned it for a 5oz mat. From what I saw it was well made and if I need a 3oz mat I will order this mat

Works nicely. Easy to install. I bought and used some ground staples to secure seams and edges. This is heavier and looks to be more durable than the weed cloth I have used in the past. We have weedy morning glory vines that weren't slowed by any of the methods I had tried. Since installing this product I haven't had even one weed poke through. This is the first season, but so far this looks like it will provide excellent weed blocking.
