The unboxing was very good. The boots were carefully packaged, wrapped and separated like a high end product. There was no odor whatsoever other than a pleasant familiar rubber smell that indicated quality. I ordered a size 11, and I am a consistent 10.5 Wide (2E) precise size. If you are a 10.5 W (2E) and wear Danner, Rocky, or Matterhorn USA military boots, then size 11 is perfect with a Smartwool sock and a WigWam sock liner underneath.I suggest the Smartwool Mens Classic Mountaineer Maximum Cushion Crew sock and a fine sock liner to ease getting into and out of these boots. Make sure your toenails are trimmed and sanded down to avoid piercing the expensive socks and to ensure good foot health! Also exfoliate and sand-paper off any rough or dry skin on your feet to ensure maximum comfort prior to use. I do not suggest cotton socks; only tight fitting wool from Darn Tough Vermont or Smartwool. The sock liner is critical to avoid swamp-foot and to maintain the pilling of the wool sock. The liner is your moisture and vapor transport barrier!The boots are not insulated, but lined, which is my preference, and these boots will be ideal for warm weather, especially when the rubber portion of the boot is in the water. There is a removable foot bed-cushion insert in these boots that is adequate, or you can install your own to ensure rigidity. Orthotic inserts should fit as well. Do not expect ankle support, it was not in the design, or required. If you have athletic legs (not soft or obese legs) and good size firm quadriceps and hamstrings, then the leg openings will be snug.I measure a 27" thigh with a thin pair of snug Clothing Arts pickpocket proof blue jeans. This will be the maximum leg opening, and the openings on these boots seem as if they were tailor made for my thigh (I got lucky here). The canvas is beautiful and high end, and the stitching is perfect. The product is worth the asking price, and the price is fair given the quality and the good looks of these boots. I am going to look good sporting these boots and will be color matching my shirts and gear to match the canvas color.The build quality is so good, that I am now considering FrogToggs over Simms for chest waders and related gear. If they made this hip boot to these standards, than it is safe to assume their other offerings will follow suite. I am highly impressed by this made in China boot, which is no surprise because if a product manager wants a well made product from China, it can be done.If you need ankle support, then purchase Aryse IFAST® dynamic ankle stabilizer that will fit inside this boot, or any boot. I intend to use this boot carefully, and to hike and walk into a spot on non-technical ground. If I needed to hike 3 miles through rough-terrain to get to my spot, whether hunting or fishing, then I would use a stocking foot offering with a set of high end Corker wading boots. If I need to hike with these boots, then they are going on my back attached to my Alice-pack, and will be hiked into the spot, then put on and used at the site, which is a viable option for Rambo types.

Ordered a size larger than true foot size and plenty of toe room. However, these hip boots don't accomodate a wider foot. The legs and boot material appear very durable. The leg fit is very tight and if you're wearing jeans under the boots, be prepared for your pants to be bunched up at your knees.These boots will fit skinny legs or bare legs just fine......

I rate these 5-stars considering what they are and what they cost and not against all other waders.I ordered these for my wife when she wasn't sure what type of waders she wanted and didn't want to spend a lot. Intended for use on New England streams and small rivers. They are fairly heavy but not surprising since they have rubber boots and canvas-like uppers. The boots fit very well (I ordered size 7 and she wears a women's size 8 so best with heavier socks) though I'd say they are size big since I wear men's size 8 and they fit me well with light socks. Not much insulation to the boots but plenty to keep the feel of cold water on rubber off the skin. The uppers fit well through knee and thigh. I think you could get them off with some effort if you fell in deep-is water. Straps and ties good to attach to a belt. I got this pair in felt sole but may get a pair we can share with lug sole when doing more walking on shore & trails and for work we often do when a section of our yard floods during heavy rains. I'd definitely use them for times when I don't want to use my stocking-foot chest waders and boots. They probably won't get used with a high frequency or treated roughly so I expect to get some years of use from them.

ProsDurable, well built, comfortable (w thick socks), fit as expected, nice features, look nice.ConsRubbery smell takes months to subside, on the heavy side, pricey, soft elastic band in suspenders feel as though they won’t last long.Overall, a nice set of waders. I’ve fished in them for hours without discomfort. Only bummer is if you leave them in a warm car, they will make it smell like rubber.

Using these for bow fishing in shallow water. They work great!

I bought these for hunting an area that requires more than just my usual "muck boots" to access. I am very pleased with them so far. Easy to get on and off and seem to be extremely well made. I normally wear an 11 wide shoe so ordered these in a 12. They fit perfectly with just enough room for a thick pair of socks if cold weather calls for such. The thicker fabric is perfect for cold weather but MIGHT be an issue if used for fishing during warmer weather. Time will tell if they are as durable as they appear they will be. Overall, very pleased. Would recommend.

Works perfectly for launching and loading my 14' boat. I always had to get into the water to launch it then have wet feet all day! This solved all my problems of wet feet!!!

These are at least the 4th pair of waders that I've owned in the last 10 or so years. I've only been able to get about 3 years out of a pair. It's almost always how you store them, and I haven't figure out a fool proof way yet. Frogg Toggs have always seemed like a good brand, and these exceed the ones I've own before. The 3-ply makes them seem like they will last a lot longer. I also got a great price on these so real plus.

No steel shank as advertised otherwise a quality product

I fish in the Thames were it is tidal and cold. These are nice in that they are warm, fast to put on and take off, and super easy for walking as well. Much faster to use than my normal waders, they are also providing better insulation, and they dry much faster.

The product was in perfect shape and exactly what’s needed for wading shallow water. Delivery was very fast.
