Exactly what the DR (Downrigger) ordered.
Very high quality vinyl coating. I was immediately impressed with the quality of coating these weights have. The added flash of the gold is nice but time will only tell how long it lasts. I will however be inclined to replace the gold flash if they were ever to get worn off. Not a whole lot to say about a 12lb DR ball. These are nice, definitely feel that the extra money spent wasn’t for a waste.

Good product
Great weights and fast delivery, I've used these and the 12 pounds is perfect for ocean salmon fishing my gear runs at exactly the depth I put it at. I can see it on my fish finder.

Downrigger weights
This style of Cannon weights are the best. Rubber coating is good idea for boat protection as well as cut down on boats electrical current it gives off. I meant to Update long ago...there is a 50/50 Chance due to inadequate packaging that the weights eyes will either be busted off or bent so bad when you do try and place bend in the proper position they may break off then.

Cannon Down rigger weight
I have two Scotty 1101 down riggers and use these exclusively...I have one extra as a spare. They work great and the tail keeps the line from twisting and causing problems. I use these in Alaska where heavy tides demand a heavy weight. The heavy plastic coating keeps the damage to the ball to a minimum with everyday use. Highly recommend.

Pricey, but the best
Easily troll baits at 7-9mph on your downrigger with no issues. Great for getting the baits down to Wahoo and Dolphin that may be ignoring topwater baits. The design is great and these always track true and straight. Highly recommended, just make sure you check your terminator and rigging wire for wear and/or corrosion. I have already lost one of these weights from old wire snapping. Be careful!

Use with large/heavy Rod for extra downrigger
I use this one for trout trolling when I want an extra downrigger. I use a large salt water heavy rod with inexpensive Penn reel (I've had for 30 years) to rig an extra downrigger. Works fine, very portable way to get an extra downrigger in a small aluminum fishing boat.
