Solid compact keyboard and Corsair quality
This is a compact keyboard without the 10 numeric keys (a.k.a. 10-keyless), and the key switches used are called Cherry MX RED. A little research showed that the Cherry switches of various colors denote different key travels, pressures and tactile feedbacks, and they are made by a German company (Cherry MX) with extensive testing and quality control. I thought I'd try this one over a myriad of low cost keyboards. Corsair is a name I came to trust over the years for power supplies, memory and USB drives. The keyboard came with a shipping label slapped on the display box, without any additional packaging outside. The keyboard arrived fine, but I think I will request an Amazon box next time just in case, by checking an option during checkout. The keyboard has a substantial feel to it, heftier than the full size OEM keyboards one often sees. This version has only red lights and not the rainbow colors. The key travels are smooth and quiet without clicking. Of course on bottoming depending on how hard you mashed it, it will make some noise. The RED switch has an operating force of 45g (while some others are 60g). The 4 mm bottoming travel seems just a tad long than common OEM keyboards, but one can get used to it easily. Another Cherry switch would be the Brown, which has the same operating force but will give a tactile bump at 2 mm with the same 4 mm bottoming travel. Maybe I will try the Brown some time. The iCUE software (need to download from Corsair's website), allows adjustment of LED brightness and other functions. The default lighting "pattern" is a sweeping column of light like a wave in a sports arena going from left to right and back again. A button allows the LED to be turned off or adjusted to one of 3 intensity levels. Another button turns off the "Windows" key so the Windows Start Menu does not pop up and block your view in the middle of a game while you are playing. Overall I am impressed with the quality of this keyboard.

Love it. A must for all-day-typers
So I'm not a computery guy. I mean, I don't like them. Mostly I associate computers, electronics, gizmos and doo-dads with frustration. I'm old at heart, and have to put on my reading glasses to plug the tiny usb thing into my phone. Despite this dislike of computers, I do type a lot. I don't profess to do it well, but I write a lot, which means hours and hours of typing daily. I mentioned off-hand to a friend that I hated how cheap keyboards felt, and how I was always bumping the wrong key. I guess I never thought to look into what upgrades were available. Anyway, he mentioned looking into mechanical keyboards. I researched a bit, learned a few things about switches and their types, and the Brown switches seemed to be right for me. Unfortunately, I wanted "tenkeyless", mostly so the keyboard as an object sat more center at my desk, without the additional 6" off to the right. I couldn't find a brown-switch tenkeyless keyboard I liked that had good reviews and was in the price tier I sought. There were a few cheap ones, but I doubted I'd find the improvement there I wanted. So I bought this guy. I love it. The keys are so much more satisfying to press, and the flow, when I hit it, is awesome. I worried a bit about the sound, but it's a very low, mechanical sound, not a click, not a higher tap, and it bothers neither me nor my work-at-home wife in the next room trying to spreadsheet. Perfect. It's sturdy, too. That might be my favorite thing about it. I pulled it out of the box and thought, "This has a keyboard in it?" It was quite hefty. A few of the keys had popped off during shipping, but that just goes to show how easily they can be removed for cleaning. I pushed them back on effortlessly. Can't recommend it enough. A typist's dream, and the upgrade everyone who types all day should make. I didn't game on it, but I can't see why that wouldn't be enjoyable.

Great Compact Keyboard
This thing is really awesome for the price. I've been looking at switching to a ten-key-less keyboard for about a year, and this one fit the bill. It is replacing a Razer Blackwidow 2012 with cherry mx blue switches that finally annoyed me enough to be replaced after it drank another gin and tonic and didn't come back to life unscathed. I kind of miss the blue switches, but the red are a lot more silent and better for the desktop mic that I have. I chose Corsair because I was tired of Razer's software, and they don't use real Cherry switches anymore. I bought my brother in law a Corsair keyboard a couple of years ago and was really impressed with the build quality and the functionality that they achieved without having obnoxious broken cloud software to keep the keyboard working (looking at you razer; it seriously baffles me how they simultaniously produce some of the best hardware and worst software to cripple said hardware). I am familiar with the build quality because of the 3 times that my sister has asked me to repair her husbands keyboard. First because it drank a glass of wine, then a jack and coke, and finally a whole bottle of wine (keyboards in my family have a drinking problem, don't ask). What was really impressive about the time it drank a bottle is that my sister was in Vegas at the time, and when she called to ask what to do I told her to unplug it and put it in a box and I would see what she could do when she brought it home. 3 months later she finally got it to me and it was moldy and nasty. I disassembled it, soaked it in alcohol overnight, scrubbed vigorously, and rinsed liberally with distilled water. After reassembly and lubricating the switches you wouldn't know that it had been through such terrible treatment.

A Good Quality Compact Keyboard
There aren't very many frills on this keyboard, which actually makes it a pleasure to use. Key actuation is satisfyingly positive; no hesitation like you find on membrane switches. The media keys do exactly what they're programmed to do, and with Corsair's iCue software it's easy to choose an LED configuration. Since the backlighting on this model is only red, you're losing some of the aesthetic compared to an RGB model. Compact is certainly the way to describe this, so if you want a number pad or a set of programmable macro keys then there are better options. This is a good choice for light typing work, FPS games, and simple RPGs.

Seems solid, no complaints yet.
I bought this keyboard as a temporary solution for working from home during COVID19 (my regular Das Keyboard was left at the office and I haven't had a chance to return to get it). I didn't have high expectations given the price I paid for it, but I have had good experiences with other Corsair and Cherry MX products in the past so I took a chance. The deck is solid feeling, with no sideways or up and down flex to it. I'm used to Cherry MX Brown switches with a tactile bump so these Reds are are little different. They feel kind of...springier. Not necessarily a bad thing, just have a little softer feel than the browns. The keycaps seem like your standard ABS doubleshot plastic with Cherry cross pegs. Nothing fancy, a little slick and thin but I've seen a lot worse. Textured spacebar is a little strange to me personally. The red LEDs can go really bright, and when I plug it into my laptop dock it stays on indefinitely (even when the laptop is shut off) so if you have it in your bedroom that might be a concern. I have a dedicated office room so that's no biggie. Unlike some other mechanicals at this pricepoint I didn't notice an audible "ping" sound when releasing keys which is a good thing. The metal deck seems better dampened. I'm planning to use this keyboard for at least 8 hours a day 5 days a week so we'll find out pretty quick if the quality holds up over time. I'll update this review if anything happens. So far, no complaints.

Absorbed a whole can of soda, got rinsed off in a sink, and still works great
I dont write many reviews.... But I had to write a review for this keyboard. I've been using it for my gaming rig for about 9 months. This last week something i've never in 30 years of computer gaming happened, and i spilled a giant cup of soda directly ontop of the keyboard when fumbling to put down my takeout order. I unplugged it as fast as i could, and then dropped it in the sink and turned the faucet on the center of it while i went and cleaned up the mess on and below my desk. after about 10 minutes under the faucet running water while I handled the mess, i took it out from the sink, and pulled all the key faces off to help it dry faster. when i tipped the case and more water came pouring out i realized it was retaining water, so I took out the 11 screws on the bottom (4 of them are hidden under the rubber feet) and split the case open so i could better drain the rest of the water. After letting it dry over night i put the key faces back on, and put the cover back on... and it works! every key works and nothing is broken. I haven't had a keyboard survive first a soda bath and then total immersion in water since an old IBM PS2 keyboard from the 80s. Not only is this a very comfortable tenkeyless keyboard with very convenient (and harder and harder to find) dedicated media keys, but it's durable and extremely well built! I would absolutely recommend it. My only minor complaint is i had to buy a seperate (ROCCAT) wrist support for my left hand because the keyboard with the feet up in the back sits a little high at the front end.

Great, inexpensive mechanical keyboard.
You can often pick up the non-RGB version of this keyboard (the K63) for about $60 USD. At that price, this a great mechanical keyboard with real cherry MX red switches. If you've never had a mechanical keyboard, you should know that having actual cherry switches is kind of a big deal. There are a lot of other switches available and some are good, but many are not. If you're wondering if mech. keyboards are for you, this is a good board to try. Good things: - The price - Real Cherry MX switches - Dedicated media and volume keys - Bright red LED backlighting if you like that sort of thing - Windows lock to disable the windows key if you accidentally hit it while gaming Things you should know before you buy: - The control and windows keys are non-standard sizes, which complicates things if you want to use custom keysets. - The usb cable is not removable like you find on many mech. keyboards. Not a big deal for most people, but you can't customize this keyboard with a custom cable without modding it first. - The windows lock feature doesn't have a light to tell you if it's on or off. Not a big deal, but it feels like an oversight. - The area below the keys is actually painted red, so it's red even if the LEDs are off.

Good but too expensive for what you get
Now hear me out, the keyboard is a pretty good item. While its small, and the materials seem, at least looking at it from the outside, are all just plastic, it feels great. Now back to the plastic, if im buying something for 80 bucks I want it to look more expensive, just looking at it makes it feel like a 40 dollar keyboard. For the 40-50 range you can get this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M4LIKLI?pf_rd_p=d1f45e03-8b73-4c9a-9beb-4819111bef9a&pf_rd_r=63Q50QEWCYC327QJ028P. Also corsair, looks just better, and it has a wrist rest. For 80 dollars I think I should also get a wrist rest.

Great Entry Mechanical Keyboard
Arrived blazing fast. Smooth and nice cherry red mx switches on this one, could probably be better if it had o-rings installed on it. Love the leds, they are all even brightness and functional. I did find the lighting effects software buggy on windows 10. I find them distracting when flashing in my periphery while typing so that doesnt bother me to not use it. No broken keys/switches. This thing is built like a tank. The spec page on corsair site didn't mention that this has a steel inner plate (and its heavy). More expensive ones list this as a feature. Been using it for a week and it takes fingerprints a bit easily. No wrist rest included and its pretty high to the top of the keys. That and the o-rings would make it perfect. Good value at ~$105

Possibly the best all round budget, mechanical, TKL, gaming keyboard
There is not many keyboards out there that are Mechanical with cherry mx reds for quiet operating, TKL and have some kind of back lighting. If you like red this is perfect and it doesnt get any cheaper than this for a quality product, if you dont and want RGB youll definitely have to spent more money on something else. Ive been using this for a couple days and even though it takes a moment to get used to a new keyboard, i do approve of this as a solid keyboard purchase that should last a LONG time.
