‘Richard was sensitive. He was more open to the demon world.’
New York author Noah Harris is a 28-year-old bisexual man currently single and living in a small apartment in New York City. Though somewhat shy he is a humanitarian who sees the world in which we live as a community bonded in a natural approach to our feelings and ourselves and our interaction with others. His bisexual nature allows him to create well rounded characters – most all of his novels are M/M romances but they are much more than the usual erotica we encounter in film, television, and social media. Noah explores the boundaries of types and wields a strong brush as he paints his fascinating people. That takes talent and Noah has it!In this new book Noah steps again into new territory with themes that show evidence of his research into history of the recent past and social developments that include the gender bias, the rise and terror of AIDS, and the monstrous David Richard Berkowitz known also as the Son of Sam, an American serial killer who was convicted of eight separate shooting attacks that began in New York City during the summer of 1976. He killed six victims and wounded seven others by July 1977. As the number of victims increased, Berkowitz eluded the biggest police manhunt in the history of New York City while leaving letters that mocked the police and promised further crimes, which were highly publicized by the press. The killings terrorized New Yorkers and achieved worldwide notoriety.Noah shapes all of these facts and makes on of his finest novels to date. And he does this by continuing the story Richard Miller in July 1977 and his progress from Missouri to New York City. As Noah comments, ‘DEMON HEAT continues Richard's story as he struggles against his own desires to have the Hooded One take him as a slave for all eternity. He's in a loving relationship but can't forget the incredible pleasure that only demons can give him. When the sex demons from another world come knocking, will Richard open the earthly plane to their lust? Or will he find the strength to defy them, and deny what he wants so desperately?’Or as the synopsis outlines, ’July 1977: New York is sweltering under a record-breaking heat wave. Tensions run high, crime is rampant, and the city seems to be falling apart. For new arrival Richard Miller, it is both heaven and hell. He has a loving boyfriend, a budding career as a nude model, and a comfortable place in the city’s vibrant gay community. But he knows it is all being threatened by sinister forces that he has not been able to defeat. The cult that tried to seduce him into the occult world is still after him, and Richard’s visions of the seductive demons that want to possess his body become stronger by the day. They threaten to destroy his relationship, his health, and his sanity. Will Richard give in and become a slave to his temptations, or can he resist the powers of darkness threatening not only himself but his entire community?’Noah grows as a writer with every book – this time he delves deeply into the sinister world of demons that touch on paranormal/horror and manages to pull it off well. Suggestion – read Book 1 first for an increased impact. Grady Harp, April 17

5 stars are simply not enough!!! Amazing read!
When I say five stars are simply not enough I truly mean it! This amazingly well written sequel in the City of Sinners series books blew me away! I did not think the author could top the 1st book in the series, but he did!!! I love the main characters Richard and Tyrone and the continuing story of them! The storyline development in this series is so well written that you get sucked it and don't want to ever leave. It's very evident that the author thoroughly researched the era and gay culture of the time. The demons are very well thought out and the author is so descriptive that you can easily visualize them in your mind. This book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. When I turned the last page all i.could think was I need more! Where will the author take the story from here? There are so many questions left unanswered that the possibilities are endless! I cannot wait for the next book in the series to see how the story continues to develop!!!

Blackout!
This installment was even hotter than the first one! Richard is still a little naive but he is getting there, lol His deal with the Taurus Demon is something I am looking forward too! That leather guy needs to get a taste of his own medicine one day and I hope he does. The black out is real but some don't know it! Even I didn't know it was linked to the cults! I received a free advance copy of this book for a honest review.

Do I dare to say shades of Dean Koontz! It's been a long time since I've read books of Demons & the unknown & I absolutely loved it! Being a native New Yorker & old enough to be afraid to go out during the days of the Son of Sam, this brought back memories & made you wonder maybe the "devil" did make him do it. Thank-You for a job well done Noah Harris, looking forward to book 3.

Richard and Tyrone rise above!
The author Noah is a young man with a big heart an old soul. He writes stories that make you aware of the struggles that the gay community deal with daily. His unique style of writing captures your attention and sends you to a blissful escape for a much needed few hours. This book is the second to the series, and picks up right from the end of the first one. Richard and his boyfriend Tyrone have just dealt with the Hooded one and the cult. They both deal with not only prejudice of being gay but also being a biracial couple too! What I loved the most is how the characters are so united and committed to helping each other. It sends a hidden message as do all of Noah's books on treating everyone with the respect and love that you would want in return. This book has a dark and demonic side to it. It makes the storyline that more intense and imaginative. Noah really outdone himself with this story. I'm not going to spoil your experience to reading this by giving any of the plot away. I want you to buy this for a eye opening amazing story. Thank you my talented friend John! I appreciate and admire all your hard work you share with us fans!❤

Dark and twisted! Superb!
This is the solidly researched and cleverly written City of Sinners, Book Two, by Noah Harris, which is turning out to be a brave, dark, twisted, genre-busting series. Yes, it’s an M/M Romance, it’s also historical, erotic and paranormal, but more than that, it’s a complex occult offering, of the kind I would normally only expect to see from the likes of Stephen King. But this has so much more to offer and the resulting creative, but edgy feel is only a small part of its appeal.Demon Heat is the continuation of Richard Miller's roller coaster journey so, although not critical, if you haven’t read book one, Darkest Desires, I would recommend it. Set in 1977 in New York City, amidst the gay community, the depth of research Noah has undertaken, to get the ethos of the era is spot on and awesome. It feels right, incorporating a lot of historical accuracy and detail from that time. The characters, which were fully developed in book one, are expanded further in book two. Richard and Tyrone are still together though their relationship has issues, as does Richard’s career as a nude model. We revisit Steve and Adam, with Steve offering a bit of humor. We find out what happened to Paco after the Everard Bathhouse fire. We’re also introduced to Peter who, like Richard, is new to the city and struggling to find his feet. Cue some hot BDSM scenes. The Knowledge Demon makes a re-appearance as does Anton, head of the power hungry Cult. We are also introduced to a new demon, the Taurus Demon, who has a significant role to play. The occultists are still at large and intent on gaining power through the summoning of The Hooded One, the demon who needs to complete his possession of Richard in order to cross over to this world and so give them the power they crave. As with book one, the story revolves around Richard’s relationships, his life in the gay community, and his fight against the occult. You’ll need an open mind to read this dark story as some scenes deal with mature themes, but if you’re Okay with the occult, erotic sex, and drug use, as an integral, but not gratuitous, part of a storyline, then you won’t be able to put this down. There are a complex set of interlinked plots which merge together, at significant points in the story, making this a very satisfying and exciting read from start to finish. There’s a lot going on but at no time is it confusing. Noah gives us enough information to understand the plot and yet keep us guessing at the outcome. The ending ties up a good many of the plot themes but, I warn you, not all. It’s a HFN and there’ll be another book in the series. What happens to the evil Anton and his cult? What of Richard’s relationship with Tyrone? I’m waiting with baited breath for book three and, though I’m not usually a fan of long series, this is one I’d love to see continue.****I would like to thank the author for the privilege and opportunity of reading this ARC. My review is an honest opinion of the book****
