Really strong and sturdy highly recommended

I bought this to go with the Auto glym bucket which it is designed to work with and it's perfect for the job it's made for. The downside is that it's expensive to buy at first seeing basically it's there to go in the Auto glym bucket and it would be nice to see both sold together and I am sure they could be cheaper but on the positive side, the shield (as with the bucket) is well made and fits perfectly with large vertical "fins" which help keep it well above the bottom of the bucket but also give great "anti swirling" of the the water and dirt in the bottom of the bucket. It's stays in place but is still easy to remove to clean out your bucket. If you look after it, it will last for years and years so that makes the original cost worth while.

This works well, I used it in my rinsing bucket while washing my car ( we still have a hose pipe ban here) and the water in the soapy bucket stayed really clean.

Perfect fit as expected for the matching buckets. Reassured by quality I expect from this brand. Works exactly as described with clear results. Can believe I once used buckets without guards...

Does what it says

I'm a huge fan of Autoglym and have spent close to £500 on their products to date. However, the things that I didn't buy from them are their cleaning accessories. The reason for this is that you're paying a premium for the Autoglym brand when the product itself is a simple thing that is the same as a no brand product.This philosophy also applies here with the grit guard. Is there anything special about this grit guard that you wouldn't get with a no-name grit guard? No. Are you paying a large premium because the grit guard comes in Autoglym packaging? Yes. So then why bother even buying this? The simple answer is that it's made to fit perfectly in the Autoglym bucket. If you've already made the poor financial decision to buy the Autoglym bucket, then you might as well buy this grit guard along with it as it'll be a perfect fit. Otherwise, I'd recommend buying no-name buckets and matching grit guards.Overall, if you already have an Autoglym bucket, then this is the perfect grit guard for it. Otherwise, don't waste your money on this and get a simple no-name grit guard and bucket.
