NM-AM4 mounting-kit

This is more a review of the Noctua DH-14 which is about 5 years old. I just purchased a Ryzan 5 2600 on sale ( not Amazon). I just received this kit today. Anyway I had used the stock cooler, which is not bad, and Prime 95 max stress gave me mid 80's at 3400. Granted , the thermal paste hadn't even settled in yet. So I just installed the noctua and now I get mid 60's at 3900. I could go higher but I am going to let this new processor burn in for a bit. The kit is fine. Gives you what you need and good instructions.

The mounting kit works as intended and was easy to install. The package was shipped relatively quickly considering it was international and the packaging was good.

While this is available free of charge for D-14/D-15 owners via Noctua, this is a great option for anyone that wants it the next day/via Prime shipping instead of waiting a week. Of important note is that this is for Ryzen CPU owners but NOT for owners of ThreadRipper or the upcoming Epyc CPUs which use the SP3/TR4 socket (two names for the same socket). If you have an x399 motherboard for ThreadRipper CPUs, you unfortunately cannot use the Noctua D-14, D-14S, or D-15 CPU coolers as there is no adapter for SP3/TR4 unlike APM4. I was equally disappointed as my D-14 has lasted me through three or four different CPU/motherboard builds with different sockets and for different platforms, but Noctua isn't to be blamed here; the SP3/TR4 socket is absolutely HUGE and there's no way the surface area of the D-14/D-15 contact plate would cover enough of the CPU to achieve sufficient heat transfer. The good news is that the Noctua NH-U12S TR4-SP3 premium-grade 120mm CPU cooler for AMD TR4/SP3 and the Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 premium-grade 140mm CPU cooler for AMD TR4/SP3 coolers for SP3/TR4 work great and cost a bit less than the D-14/D-15, though they're unlikely to be compatible with any other non-two-cpus-in-one-package chips out of either AMD or Intel in the future. Blame AMD's design team for that, though.

Well, it is what is expected to be, but I was just surprised with the premium packaging and the manual details you get from this small kit, so how I can rate something metal that is either just working or not working? it is work and that quality is super, the package and manual are perfect.

When I upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 7 2700x there was one thing I was dreading: having to reinstall my huge NHD-15 cooler and having to deal with the horrible mounting system that Noctua usually provides. But I have to say that this mounting kit is a huge improvement from the Intel derivative that I had for my i5-6500k; it is easy to install, the instructions are easy to follow, and it took me about 5 minutes to have everything installed. This one gets 2 thumbs up from me, a huge improvement from the last mounting kit I had from Noctua.

Pros: - Worked exactly as intended to use that $100 cooler on the newer AM4. Saved from having to buy a whole new cooler. - Easy to install. Cons: - Instructions show arrows supposedly indicating air-flow, but it was 90 degrees out.There's 2 mounting styles a short/long bar depending on which way you want the cooler to face. Had to change it (which took all of 2 minutes) due to unclear instructions. - Noctura has a program where they will send you one for free, but there's a catch. You already have to own a Ryzen system and submit proof of purchase of the CPU cooler and a Ryzen CPU. Well, that means you can't get it ahead of time, you would have to order your hardware and then submit the stuff to Noctura and wait however long it takes for them to ship one out to you (free). I felt it was worth the $7 to have all the needed hardware arrive together on the same day and not play games. This is something where they're trying to do something nice, but it brings additional hassle and bitterness. I feel like submitting the stuff and getting one, then returning it out of spite even though it's only $7. I'd be happier not even hearing about that program.

This kit looked nicer than apple packaging when I opened it! The quality and pride of Noctua really shows. It hooked right up to my ndh15 and my Ryzen R5 3600 was responding in kind. Load temps never past 53 degrees Celsius. If you want to game quiet as a leopard stalking its prey in the forest so the wifey doesn't wake up and RIP your head off Noctua is the only way to go. FYI the ndh15 wrecks most aio liquid coolers in temp testing.

I get a lot of Noctua stuff. Recently I got a NH-U12S whos kit was missing part of the mounting kit (the plastic bag that normally contains the kit had clearly been slit open by a machine packing error). Instead of wasting my time going through the return process I just got this little mounting kit for $9 and it worked like a charm!

Por fin pude volver a usar mi NHD-14 que tuve guardado por 7 años a falta de un kit de retención para AM4. Sabía que podía pedirlo gratis a Austria comprobando que tengo una motherboard AM4, pero no confío en la aduana mexicana y seguramente hubiera tardado meses en llegar. Buscando descubrí que lo vendían en Amazon y preferí pedirlo para que llegara más rápido. La instalación es simple siguiendo el manual, y contiene kit para colocar el disipador de manera horizontal o vertical, dándole más versatilidad.

Dopo aver visto questo brand che mi era sconosciuto fino a pochi giorni fa sono rimasto incantato dalla loro qualità e dal loro aspetto, colori che a me piacciono veramente molto. Ho preso questo kit per montarlo su una scheda madre più recente che non supportava il modello AM3. Ho dovuto in seguito fare il reso per il solo motivo della spedizione, dopo aver subito ben due ritardi, e arrivata quando ormai il computer era ben che assemblato. Tenete in considerazione il sito del produttore che offre gratuitamente il kit a chi è provvisto di fattura di processore AMD Ryzen e di un dissipatore Noctua. Personalmente ho fatto pure quello pensando che il prodotto venduto da Amazon arrivasse alla data prestabilita. In parole povere è arrivato prima il pezzo inviatomi da loro gratuitamente che quello pagato. Detto questo non voglio dare meno stelle per un imprevisto, credo sia una delle poche spedizioni che personalmente hanno subito un ritardo. Quindi promosso a pieni voti. La confezione risulta essere ben curata e i pezzi sono molto robusti e di ottima qualità, ottimi al tatto. Consigliato vivamente l'intero brand!

Ich liebe Noctua über alles. Selten habe ich im Premium Hardwaresegment so sehr das Gefühl auch Premium gekauft zu haben. Die Verpackung, die Aufmachung, die Qualität, alles sagt einem auf den ersten Blick sofort: "Hier hast du es, besser können wir es nicht!" Habe einen Noctua NH-D15 von 2017 hiermit auf ein AM4 Sockel gebaut. Einbau sehr einfach, es liegen übrigens sogar zwei Paare schienen dabei, ein langes Paar und ein kurzes Paar. Der AM4 Sockel ist nämlich nicht quadratisch und damit kann man sich dann sogar aussuchen, ob man den Kühler von oben nach unten oder andersherum (langes Paar) oder von links nach rechts oder andersherum (kurzes Paar) montieren möchte. Es sei noch dazu gesagt, dass ihr dieses Kit auch bei Noctua gratis erhalten könnt unter Vorlage eines Kaufbelegs einer AM4 CPU oder eines Mainboards! Kann aber etwas dauern, daher hab ich es hier bestellt, kostet auch nicht die Welt.

Bien content que Noctua propose ce kit. J'ai pu ainsi conserver mon Noctua NH-D14 que j'ai depuis... longtemps en passant d'un Intel d'une ancienne génération à un AM4. Les pièces fournies permettent plusieurs positionnement possibles et s'adaptent donc à une grande variété de configuration. Attention tout de même à vérifier que votre carte mère et votre boîtier permettent d'accueillir votre ancien ventirad Noctua. Et ça fait plaisir de voir qu'il y a encore des sociétés qui ne font pas d'obsolescences programmées. Ils vont au contraire jusqu'à s'arranger pour que leurs articles, mêmes anciens, s'adaptent au fil des ans. Un vrai gage de sérieux. Notice claire, très bien expliquée et pièces de qualité. Rien à redire.
