I am flat footed and wanted to know if the 4E is a good size** A: I have a pair size 12EE and and also have quite flat feet. However, I only tried them on before replacing the insole with my custom orthotics, so I have no idea how they would fit, in the long run. With my orthotics, the fit was still fine; not over or under sized. I deliberately chose the SL-2 last as that has worked for me, in the past. **Q: Are these shoes waterproof?** A: They are leather shoes. You can apply mink oil to them like you would to boots to waterproof them. **Q: What materials are these made from? is there any pvc?** A: “Assembled in THE USA” No mention anywhere on the shoes or box of leather. I bought 9½ 4E from MOUNTAIN PEAK through Amazon US in March 2020. So far so good. They are very comfortable, and yet "stylish" enough to look professional. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A decent pair of shoes that accommodates wide feet *by K***. on March 27, 2025* The New Balance Men's MW577 Walking Shoes are a reliable pair of shoes. I purchased them about three weeks ago, and they are holding up well. As someone who purchases a new pair of shoes roughly every six months due to cheap mesh material, these New Balances are made with nice leather that you can tell is going to last for many years. The shoes themselves break in pretty easily, which is a good thing for people who are on their feet all day. I ordered my pair in a wide, and they fit very nicely. In terms of comfort, the shoes are wonderful for letting your toes breathe, but when it comes to the rubber soles, they are already somewhat flat. I personally wish these soles were a better material, such as memory foam. But keep in mind you may need to replace the soles. Lastly, for the design, the black leather is very nice, and is an easy to clean!
