It would be great to use for kids when combing their hair out. It does have a strange smell when you first spray it isn't terrible and it goes away very quickly and once it does there is no scent or fragrance or anything after that. It definitely helps smooth frizz and it makes my thick, long, sort of wavy hair feel very smooth and soft and silky. It helps detangle and smooth during combing with a thick-toothed comb after a shower. I feel like it helps protect hair for when I have to use a blow dryer, too. But my only real issue is that it breaks me out, my back and chest and sides of my face - basically everywhere my hair touches. So there is still something in this that my own personal skin is sensitive to, but that is not the products fault - that is just my super sensitive skin. I am very grateful that it does not make me sneeze or cough or make my eyes or nose burn like other similar products do. If you have more normal skin or even skin that maybe isn't as sensitive as mine I would suggest giving it a try!
