The idea is cool but ultimately to have to walk across the office ...
The speakers sound cheap and really do not react to the sound unless it is turned up. The idea is cool but ultimately to have to walk across the office to get your phone to answer it, disconnect it etc is very inconvenient. I use the speakers with my computer now and the tank solo. I replaced the light in the tank for a blue light and made it a glow tank.....now it is pretty cool.

Poor build quality and design (but no fish were harmed in the review of this product)
At first glance this looked to be an odd design choice for an aquarium since the vibrations from music is not what you want to have near an aquarium. Additionally, features such as being able to dock your phone and recharge it on top of a container of water really didn’t seem to be the best idea in the world. But I thought that I’d use it as a regular aquarium and forget about the music and speakers. Unfortunately, it also fails at that task. The number one attribute in any aquarium, regardless of price, is no leaking. This fails at that. I filled it to test out the filter and make sure everything works. It started leaking almost immediately. Not a gusher, but enough to make a bit of a mess. It turns out that the silicon seam sealing was not properly applied (very sloppy application throughout) and there was a small gap that leaked. The silicon was a fixable problem but what was not fixable is the poor build quality of the rest of the items. While any inexpensive aquarium is not going to have outstanding build quality, this is below par even for the price. It seems more attention and resources were spent on the music and frills of the system rather than the actual aquarium functionality, such as the lid, base, lighting and filter. Everything works, but it is very cheaply made.On the plus side, it does look nice. The square design is compact, and has a more interesting look than the typical starter aquarium.I don’t expect an inexpensive aquarium to be bullet-proof, but this is a real disappointment with regard to build quality. The looks and complete package approach (you get pretty much everything other than the fish) are nice and raises the rating a bit, but it's still a 2-star product at best.

Almost love this fish habitat
The media could not be loaded. Love this aquarium! Just finished putting gravel, decorations, chemicals and now the fish are floating to acclimated to the temperature of the water. I am ready to put the lid on and stick my iPhone in and watch those speakers dance! We went out today and found some colorful gravel, decorations, a beta bed and spent 40 bucks just on the accoutrements! But it looks cute and my granddaughter is visiting from out of town and she helped pick out the fish. She is dying to let them loose in the tank. So far, when we plugged in the speakers, they were neat, with multi colors shooting up. The fish that I got are small and since the music doesn't actually go through the water, they will not be affected. The speaker portion can stay plugged in for the color or unplugged when not in use. I hadn't had fish in ages, but I now have 2 different tanks with different types of fish that only work well in the tank I have them in. I did run into a couple of issues. The guide book shows colored cables for the speaker system. And you put your iPhone upside down in the slot. Got the speakers working and everything in fishyland is grand, just like Lynnieland

Get your fish dancing with the fishy disco!
I am not sure if fish enjoy music. If they do, they are going to love this! The speakers sound impressively good - I was not expecting much out of these little things, but the treble is okay, and the bass is booming! As the speakers play, they fire water up over the lights in them, giving a dancing water show that is most entertaining. Still not sure that the fish appreciate this, but all the humans here did!The tank is easy to set up, easy to clean, and comes with all sorts of goodies and coupons to get you going if this is your first time owning fish. The speakers are easy to set up too, and can be used without the tank. There is a slot atop the the tank which will hold your mp3 player or smart phone whilst the music plays. Bluetooth would have been nice, but other than that, this is perfect!Lots of fun for the humans and fish in your life

Horrible idea, horrible implementation
You know what's a good idea? Putting your electronics near water. Probably just as good of an idea as putting speakers near fish. This fishtank supports audio input by way of the generic 3.5mm headphone jack (yes, the one that Apple decided to remove from the iPhone). Seems like Bluetooth would have been the way to go here so that you didn't need to have your phone/mp3 player actually plugged in or near the tank, but I guess that would have been too much of an expense. Instead, you've got a rat's nest of USB cables crisscrossing along the back of this tank.So lets assume you found an old ~$5 MP3 player that you don't care about and you decided to fill the tank with just water or plants or something ethical that didn't have a nerve cluster that could be annoyed by the vibration of the speakers. The speakers don't even sound that great. I would compare these to $20 computer speakers. In fact, look - you can find the speakers alone right here on Amazon for around twenty dollars !A cheap 5 gallon tank runs around ten dollars or less when on sale. A simple LED light and hang on back filter will probably set you back another twenty or thirty. If you want an all-in-one, the Fluval Spec V Aquarium Kit, 5-Gallon, White is a much nicer tank (sixty-seven dollars as of this review).Skip this mess of a tank/speaker combo product.

Fish tank
The tank is great and the filter is silent, but the LED in the speakers went out within the second time of using them. For how much it cost and having it for an Easter present for my child, I was sad when she didn't get all the colors and the pretty light show.
