Emerson1F82-261 Heat Pump Programmable Digital Thermostat, 5-2 Day, White

My remarks have not so much to do with this thermostat, rather it is mostly about the wonderful services of Plumbing Planet who provided the item. I had used this model thermostat for over 13 years and was very pleased with its performance. Initially, the problem begin with the thermostat switching directly into the auxiliary mode when the compressor cycled in regardless of the outside temperature. Thinking I needed a new thermostat, I searched Amazon and found this model available from Plumbing Planet. I was surprised when it arrived in 3 days instead of the stated 5-7 business days. In fact, it arrived before the stated shipping day.Actually, I found out (regrettably) that I needed a new HVAC and ended up using a thermostat that more closely matched the new system. I sent the White-Rogers thermostat back to Plumbing Planet and received confirmation that my payment had been credited back to my charge card. I was really impressed with the way this company handled my transaction, and would not hesitate to use their services again. I highly recommend them.Regarding the White Rogers 1F82-261, this is a good thermostat. The previous one I had used for over thirteen years without a problem until bigger problems happened with the heat pump itself.

Works fine. This was an exact replacement for my old one and plugged into the old base, so rewiringwas not required.

Thankfully, I took pictures and made drawings of the old White-Rodgers unit (model 1F85-277) which lasted 23 years. My experience...there was a brown and black wire among the other colored wires that had no connections.Concerning this new unit, here are 2 minor problems: I agree with a review that the lighted screen is very dim, but not a serious problem. Also, the temperature was inaccurate by 3 degrees (too high), BUT I did a search on the internet, "adjust temperature on emerson 1f82" and found the fix. I hope it lasts another 23 years. HA!

It seems to be working okay except when you push any buttons the backlit panel doesn't brighten up like my old one did. Makes it difficult to read in low lighting.

Fairly easy to install. The space between the connectors could be increased slightly to add ease in connecting the wires. I will use this model for my rental properties w heat pumps.

Perfect! works great! exactly what we needed. Easy to install and easy to use. Exactly what we were looking for.

This replaced exactly the old non-functional 1F82-261 that was originally installed. works fine.
