Our extension lead fits on to the power board at the back, all of out of sight. Have a look at the video on the listing, it says too the power board can be located in any location on the rear uprights. **Q: can the middle shelf (or any) be expanded to more than 240mm? i need 290mm** A: The middle shelf can be lowered by 50mm, so it would be a quite tight fit. Width at the back is 44cm (reduce by 1cm for flat surface). Assembly is a bit tricky, especially if you're doing it alone and a power tool is required to screw in the small tapping screws. Once assembled the unit looks very nice, the materials feel high quality and it's very sturdy, ideal for holding hi-fi separates. The only negative is that it can be difficult to feed cables between the two back posts, this really depends on what you are putting on the shelves though. Overall this is a good buy and I recommend it.
