With its epoxy-finished components and stainless steel hooks, this gaff is built to withstand the rigors of fishing while providing a secure grip, even in slippery conditions. Plus, it floats, ensuring you never lose your gear overboard. ## Description AFTCO tapered Fiberglass Gaffs feature special thick-walled, super strong, yet lightweight E-glass handle construction, custom-designed for extreme strength and rigidity. All of our fiberglass handles are rolled on proprietary mandrels using specific tapers developed by AFTCO, and are fitted in our factory with the same stainless steel hooks used in our popular Taper-Tip Aluminum Gaffs. Our exclusive "wedge-lok" assembly process is used to secure all of the hooks into the E-glass handles. Featuring a rich-looking dark brown epoxy finish with hand-wrapped black and metallic gold-and-blue thread trim wraps, each gaff has a handsome and extremely functional black nylon seine cord-wrapped handle with hand-finished Turk's heads on each end of the wrapped grips. Seine cord and Turk's heads are finished with epoxy for durability and extra tackiness when gripped with wet or slimy hands. A large rubber "mushroom-style" butt cap finishes the butt-end of each handle. AFTCO Fiberglass Gaffs are available in 4, 6 and 8-foot lengths with 2, 3 or 4-inch hooks. All of the 2 and 3-inch hooks are 5/16" diameter 316L stainless steel, and the 4-inch hooks are all N50 stainless steel. The 6 and 8-foot models will float if dropped overboard. ## Features - AFTCO Fiberglass Gaffs are available in 4, 6 and 8-foot lengths with 2, 3 or 4-inch hooks. - Seine cord and Turk's heads are finished with epoxy for durability and extra tackiness when gripped with wet or slimy hands. - A large rubber "mushroom-style" butt cap finishes the butt-end of each handle. - All of the 2 and 3-inch hooks are 5/16" diameter 316L stainless steel - 4-inch hooks are all N50 stainless steel. I primarily fish for albacore tuna and have brought in hundreds of fish and used many different gaffs. This one is by far my favorite. I like the wider throught and the thicker hook. It stays plenty sharp and doesn't rip through the fish like some thinner gaffs. The handle is a good size too. I would highly reccomend this gaff if you are in the market for a high quality product that works great and will last a long time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stab em, Danno. *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2014* Aftco makes quality gear. Good value in a small, lightweight gaff. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/41442177-aftco-gaff44brwn-fiberglass-gaff-handle-4-foot-4-inch-hook](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/41442177-aftco-gaff44brwn-fiberglass-gaff-handle-4-foot-4-inch-hook) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
