Editions and titles are all mixed up, and just average textbook.
First a Warning the used sellers(here and elsewhere) have really managed to create a mix-mashed mess of ISBNs, revision years, Jeppessen titles, and hardcover/paperback information, be prepared to make a return. Not helped by Jeppeson's poor titling choices so half of their books start with the same 5 words. As for the book content, it will get the job done but the technical content is pretty thin. They could save quite a few trees with a good heavy handed editor and or they could provide more thorough coverage of the topics.

Not the same cover as the book I received.
The cover for the book is different than what I received. The one I received is a much older version. It will work and most of the material is the same maybe some different examples and figures or page numbers for the material, but I can still make it work. It would have been much better if there would have been truth in advertising and they used the same cover picture. The binding is also coming loose on the one they sent me but it is used and I can have it repaired. I just would have liked the whole truth, it would not have discouraged me from buying the book at the price they were selling it, I just like truth in advertising.

great book for student pilots
this is best book for students who are starting pilot classes. It has clear explanation with picture and examples. I got the hard cover version as its very thick book , it helps to hold it all together. I use this book as reference material and dont have to carry it to class so hard cover is good. If you light book to carry to class i recommend you take paper back version.I got used book from Graham Books which was in good condition. Some pages had folds which i guess was done by previous reader of the book to mark important pages. Overall i feel it great so 5 stars for book as well as the seller

Great Book, Great Course!
This is probably the best reference / course book for aspiring pilots that I've found. I wish this would have been available 50 years ago when I learned to fly, it would have made it a lot easier!

definitive text, a bit dry reading
This is the text book that is required for private pilot instruction, and we were advised to check online for a used copy which is less expensive than buying new. Glad to find it on Amazon. My son has reported to me, however, that the information is very dry--he is excelling in the air, but finds the chapters are very long and can be somewhat difficult to understand. He asked his instructor if there were any other texts available to supplement this one, and was told there weren't any. Luckily, thanks to Amazon and other's reviews on this text, I was able to find Rod Machado's Private Pilot Handbook, which makes the material much more interesting and easier to learn. So now he reads his required Jeppesen text, and supplements it with the information gleaned from Rod Machado's.Best to all of you following your dream of becoming a pilot!

Great text, lousy index
The text is well-written and it gives numerous, excellent examples of the information presented. The index, however, is the absolute pits. If you want to explore a specific topic, there is little to no chance that you will find it in the index in the back. How difficult would it have been for the editor(s) to do an electronic search through the text and include all page numbers where that item appears? Instead, you end up flipping through page after page in the chapter where you know the topic was addressed. Other than that, I found the text informative, entertaining, and arranged in an understandable manner.
