Purchased for my 5th grader to read about early explorers and before Columbus. Beautiful book and easy to follow.

Much better content than I expected. Well written and engaging resource for homeschool lessons for Columbus Day or world geography or world history. Working our way through the book chapter by chapter offers opportunities for lots of discussion and socratic questionning. Perfect for upper elementary/middle school students.

My son needed this book for his summer reading requirement. He enjoyed the book.

Can’t believe people would still read a book that perpetuates the ridiculous theories of Gavin Menzies. The Chinese were not here first. Please read another book like Charles Mann’s Before Columbus if you want a children’s book about precolonial America. Or at least, read a book that has been published within the last decade.

The lay-out is attractive, type-face is easy to read, and the information provides a comprehensive introduction, appropriate for use for students from grades 5 and up.

My daughter needed this book for a report and it was exactly what she needed..

I loved it! The book was filled with so much factual information. It is very good to use in a history class.

Purchased for school. Didn't hear any complaints (and believe me I would) so assume they are happy.
