I wish people would stop giving this a poor rating because propane flows out if you connect it to a small propane bottle first. Um, hello, that is what it is supposed to do! Usually your grill or heater has a regulator, and thus you attach it to that first. If you wanted one with a shut off valve on the adapter spend the extra money to get one with a shut off valve on the adapter. Otherwise it will obviously flow out immediately from the small propane bottle when connected directly to it. THIS IS JUST AN ADAPTER (IT DOESN'T HAVE ITS OWN REGULATOR OR SHUT OFF VALVE BUILT IN.)
