Works great!
This is the Cable you need for the Sega Genesis and also for other systems that use the 9-pin mini din. I’ve modified some Atari and colecovision units with the RGB mod and use this cable to connect to the RetroTink 4K, simply amazing! You simply must see retro game councils in HDR, it’s stunning especially the space shooter games with stars in the background! It’s hard to find the 9-pin mini din bulkhead connector but they can be found on eBay from China if you look closely.

Exceeded expectations, amazing video quality for the price!
These cables far exceeded my expectations for how inexpensive they were. I can now get very sharp and vibrant RGB 240p out of any consoles that use or have an adapter to use the Genesis 2 / Megadrive 2 style plug. I use mine connected to an upscaler which converts RGB SCART to Component YPBPR 240p for use on a CRT and I also upscale to 1080p for use on a modern TV and the image is significantly better than if I were to use RF, Composite or S-Video. Makes my TurboGrafx 16 look absolutely stunning. Highly recommended if you're just getting into RGB SCART and dont want to spend a fortune. You can always upgrade to the expensive cables down the road if you feel the need, but this is great to just get up and running.

Cheap RGB is simply bad
My goal is to have all my consoles hooked at once in the best quality they can be without forcing them to HD. I've never been a fan of those heavy destruction HDMI mods, so I like sticking to RGB, VGA or YPBPR component solutions when I can. I've tried this with both an OSSC and a Retrotink, and I bought this cable years ago just to see if it's any good. Because, cmon, $10 for a cable when theyre commonly 30-40? worth a shot, at the very least. I came back to this cable after trying their 32X adapter cable. And my thoughts are - well, its alright. To be more specific, there's a reason cables like these are so cheap. You go to big name manufacturers, people who don't mass produce their cables, and they cost 3x more - but that comes from a place with very carefully crafted, shielded cables carrying quality signals. These carry signals that are... okay. It's using sync on composite, a type of RGB sync which is routinely bashed by those same big name people. One of the big issues with them is shielding - you don't shield your composite signal, it'll bleed in and ruin the rest of them. Which is why they DON'T sync on composite. They sync on luma, or use a different composite sync. So imagine you're buying basically an RCA composite cable that just plays nicer with HDTVs. You really shouldn't be sticking with this in the first place, you're 40 years out of date, just use component or something..... but you're sticking it to the man and using the worst one on purpose. I have 2 sync on composite cables, theyre both fine. Not that much bleed. I wouldn't use them for like, anything beyond shoving them into a cheap scaler, or you're just hurting yourself on purpose.

User Error
Initially thought the cord was defective but took it apart to see the appropriate capacitors and resistors, filed for a replacement but then soon realized that my Gbsc has an rgb knob on the side of it for scart rgb and turn it and fixed my issue! Check your GBSC if applicable to see if it has an rgb dial!

Works as advertised
If you're a retro gamer and you want the best possible picture on your TV, you know RGB SCART is the way to go. I bought this for my Sega Genesis to connect to an RGB SCART to HDMI converter, and it works great on my 4K HD TV! Definitely recommend.

I didn't use the cable as intended.
I can't imagine this cable works well because there is no shielding between the audio and video wires. I'd think it would have some interference, but I never tried to use it as intended. I bought this cable because it was cheap and I just wanted the SCART connector to build a custom cable. The SCART connector is not a real SCART connector though. It is molded plastic to look like one. You can't unscrew and open the connector up. The part that would normally unscrew is just part of the molded plastic. My one star rating is due to this.

My Sega looked and sounded beautiful..
Wow!! What a difference a cable makes! :-D I have an old Sega Megadrive 2 console, that I wanted to get running on my modern LG LED 1080p TV, and with the old RF connection, it was, well.... total pants!! I have never seen such an appalling looking RF connection before! Even with the TV set to 'original' for it's aspect ratio.... even in 4:3 on RF the colours were so far off it was a joke, and the picture had a weird criss-crossing of colours too... there were red and white borders extending out from everything on-screen, and it all had a nasty, jaundiced yellow hew....... So I ordered this cable some 24-hours prior to this review actually, and it arrived today (within the Prime 24-hour delivery guarantee), and I connected the Megadrive 2 with this new cable - which is connected for RGB output via Scart connection..... set the video input to 4:3, and my word!! My Sega looked and sounded beautiful...!! Sharp, crisp, vibrant colours, and stereo sound! From an analogue (analog) standpoint, the RGB output is the best that you'll get compared to a digital HDMI output.... OK, it's not 1080p, but, at the Megadrive resolution, using RGB is the best that you can get, and it looks brilliant!! The games look as they should, and the sound is presented in true stereo too. The Megadrive 2 has a reputation for terrible RF performance (you ain't kidding.....), but superb RGB output, and I'm delighted to say, that this absolutely true... this cable is letting my ancient console look sparkly-new on a modern Full-HD TV.... :-)
