The knee and elbow pads are acceptable for the price. We did just get them though, so we'll have to continue using them and see how they hold up. I would consider them for casual or light usage because they are definitely not high quality or designed for hardcore skating, but I didn't have high expectations, considering the lower relative cost. They do seem small, but that's what we needed for my very petite 9 year old daughter (since another brand was too big). My biggest issue is with the hand/wrist guards, which aren't very good at all. The velcro straps couldn't wrap around my daughter's wrist tightly enough because the velcro won't attach to give her a snug fit. They are uncomfortable, seem low quality, and don't have a guard or any firm support on the back of the wrist like most other wrist protection would, to support the wrist on impact (and hopefully help avoid breaks). These would probably only protect the palm of the hand from getting scratched, but I'm more concerned about the wrist.
