Buy the large unit!
The large unit is heavy, very well built, very sturdy to the touch, very stable when opened and laid on the apartment floor! Most customers bought the small unit, and the reviews of the small were mixed. There was only one review about the large, and that review was 5 stars. So I ordered a large unit, and I am not disappointed today. The sheet metal of all sides is thick. The bottom dust tray has same thickness. The wire of top crisscrossing grille is also thick. The edges of the dust tray and the side metal sheets were bent, so no sharp edges to cut your fingers. The large unit that I received today is an updated version that has a holder-like latch to lock the inner grille in place, so all sides will not move/collapse when you move the unit. This unit can hold a Lodge 10.5 cast iron skillet without any issue.

Honest Review: it’s big, awesome and heavy
The media could not be loaded. Double the weight of the smaller one. It’s definitely an awesome portable campfire setup for any camping trip and an excellent addition to my bushcraft kitchen. Absolutely love this baby can’t wait to use it in the field. Will post updates once used and upload video gear reviews @hikingwithepilepsy on Instagram and also on my YouTube channel Hiking with Epilepsy. I will be posting reviews of all the backpacking and camping gear I’ve bought here on amazon and also the gimmicky stuff I’ve returned. But as far as this stove I think this is definitely a keeper. Cheers.UPDATE: Get the big one! For the extra few bucks the larger unit is absolutely worth it. Fully loaded burn time 35-45 minutes before flame out. Love it can keep it going for hours by feeding aged wood through the door. Very efficient even more so with mods. Tune in to my YouTube to see the mods I made on the large unit. Cheers!

Size weight, burn
Very Pleased with this Purchase thus far. I've Only used it twice and would like to give an update here on Reviews and also on my Channel on YouTube under "Sherry a" I have done an Unboxing and a First Burn test on video on my Channel if Anyone is interested.Product is Extremely Sturdy weighing in at 5.5 lbs, 10 1/2 inches tall and 9 inches Wide, AND Collapsed at 1 1/2 inchesAnd in my opinion, the Most Sturdiest Piece is the Drop Down Grid meant for Fuel, Tinder, wood, pinecones, sticks, etc... EXTREMELY NICE !! And IMPRESSIVE. No Metal Bars to Latch in to keep it together or ANYTHING., the Drop Down Grid Takes Care of it ALL.Very Nice Grid on Top as Well THAT HOLDS FOOD, for Grilling or Holding your frying pan etc...Not that Cheap Chinese Wire Crap GRATE, But a Real Stainless steel Grate the SAME AS THE BOTTOM GRATE THAT HOLDS THE WOOD FUEL.Thus far I'm thoroughly Pleased. Any Questions, I'll be happy to answer

Foremost, I have no problem with the peoples of China and I'm not look'n to find one. Most every person I have ever met from China has passed or surpassed my judgement of the finest qualities of human character. That said..my name is mud. MADE IN CHINA stamped clear as day on the bottom plate. I know plenty folk that got big problems with that and I'm one of.. that's all of my knock.I had to order this twice to get it but, that's no fault to Amazon. Fact is, zon done good with my refund to include the two year warranty. Anyway, I knew what I was looking for and I got it. All of skepticism got a nut shot with this one. This ain't no tin box slapped together behind Earl's garage. The package I received is expertly designed and finely tweaked through the manufacturing processes. It's close to a perfection of simple design. The manufacturing is dead-on. This package is full 10 5/8"x 8 1/8" x 2" folded @ 6 lbs. The grill square is 7 1/2" with 5/32 rod on 5/16 centers give or take a measure. This ain't hollywood and no backpacker's dream but if you can appreciate a finer side of life, i'd say "go get it!".

very convenient little grill
First of all, one star deduction for the blue film that took at least 20 minutes to remove. After that, I was really impressed with this little portable grill. It's great for 1-2 people. Not a lot of grill surface area but it will support either a cast iron skillet, or 2 hamburgers, or a pack of hotdogs. I use about a dozen charcoal briquettes and have enough heat to cook a few rounds of different food. It cools down fast, folds up and packs like a larger book.

Nice stove
Used for camping grilling and camp fire. For grilling I use aluminum foil with holes poked to hold coals holes are a bit big in bottom grate. Over all it worked well. Did have to make slits for for ash try bigger for it to fit

Heavy stainless steel. Would have no problem trusting a cast iron skillet on top.
Like I said previously...., haven’t fired it up but I’m sure it’ll work well as advertised. The bottom ash pan was too tight so I notched the edge of the stove with butcher knife, hammer and flat head screwdriver. Took all of 5 minutes and fits well now. The blue covering takes some patience removing.

Alternative to propane camping stove
I am headed to a 5 week road trip across the US. I am scared of transporting propane in my car. I did. A little research and found this little stove. I can’t wait to try it.I will update in 2-3 weeks and post pictures. Easy to set up. I almost returned it thinking the bottom tray didn’t fit. Since it didn’t come with directions. I finally realized I need to slide the tray from the side(smile).Looking forward to using it.Update: love it!!!Pros: cools down fast. Less “firewood” to use than fire ring/pit. Also used it with charcoal- only needs about 9-10. Great for primitive camping.Cons: little more time is needed than the propane burner. Since I was in switching camp sites almost every 2 days, set up, collecting wood took time- rain or shine. Not a problem for us. However, need to set aside time to prep and cook.Final word: highly recommend it.BoiledWater in 1.5 liter stainless steel in 7 minutesCook Mac and cheese in 20 minutesHot dogs- 10 minutes- I like them well done, lolSautéed broccoli/onion/peppers/garlic- 30 minutesGrilled Chicken- 20 minutesTraditional Rice- 35 minutesCorn- 30 minutes
