From the Publisher Jennifer L. Armentrout - #1NEW YORK TIMES, #1International, and USA TODAY Bestselling Author . Jennifer L. Armentrout lives in West Virginia. She also writes under the name J. Lynn. When she's not hard at work writing, she spends her time, reading, working out, watching zombie movies, and pretending to write. She shares her home with her husband, his K-9 partner named Diesel and her hyper Border Jack Apollo, and a slew of farm animals that include alpacas, goats, and sheep. More about the Book - The Crown of Gilded Bones The Crown of Gilded Bones: This is an epic fantasy novel by Jennifer L. Armentrout. That follows the story of Poppy, a queen who must navigate a dangerous and treacherous world filled with enemies, intrigue, and ancient prophecies. With the help of her husband, the powerful and mysterious King of Atlantia, Poppy sets out to claim her rightful place on the throne and unite her people against a looming threat. Review: Loved how nicely the story is woven - Book quality was alright not great. Poppy Balfour's discoveries are the most intriguing part of this book. I am pretty sure I'll read this whole series again. Review: Intriguing and action-packed although unnecessarily stretcheddd out! - 3.5 stars O boy if it wouldn't have been for that ending, this review would have been completely different. While the story was really good it was.. never-ending. Without giving away too much about the story, I can say that we get to see more of Poppy in this story. About her past, her legacy, and her powers, I really had a great time reading that. And Hawke - well he still remains amazing and swoon-worthy! I love the relationship that they have. Passion, friendship, understanding, protectiveness, humour was just perfect. Keiran remains hilarious and his dialogues and quips still made me laugh However, almost everything that I came to love in the second book, I found it annoying in this one. While I loved Poppy’s inquisitive nature, her dialogue “ I have so many questions” which I found particularly endearing in Book 2 just got on my nerves in this one. I mean there is a limit to repetition, right? After a point of time, it just starts irritating. There were so many dialogues and expressions and conversation in this book which really irritated me, mainly because “Been there, done that”. I mean enough already! We have already read all that in previous books - give us something new! Right from Hawke feeling ‘unworthy’ to Poppy ‘stabbing’ him - God I literally gritted my teeth! And on top of it, this book refused to end. While I do enjoy romance and fantasy, it just can’t keep on going forever. And I felt as if I was reading this book forever! Phew! Enough of my ranting, I seriously don’t want to discourage you all from reading this series. Because at the end of the day, it is a really really good series - with a badass heroine, a protective and snarky hero, magic, romance, and power, an ideal read for fantasy lovers. And while I hated that it was too long and consisted of repetitive dialogues and banters, you might just enjoy it. I know for sure I am going to pick the next one asap because I am dying to know what happens next after that cliffhanger ending! Intriguing and action-packed although unnecessarily stretcheddd out!
