Worth the price... easily.
Great price for what it is. I like setting these to monitor various temperatures and the accuracy is great. The, 'one-tenth of a degree' is more than I need, but it's a nice feature. Putting the probe into the freezer or refrigerator, then reading what is really going on inside is better than taking the manufacturer's word for it. Since the probe is waterproof, you can also use it to read liquid temperatures. I do wish the batteries lasted longer, but you can remove them when you aren't actively monitoring it.

Very helpful little tool
These thermometers are rather cool. Initially I got one along with a portable shower unit. But my fridge decided to malfunction, while fixing it, I needed a thermometer. So I used the one I got from the portable shower unit. I was delighted to see how easy it was to use, small yet very functional. I simply put the wire over the door, closed the door and monitored temp. Fridge works fine now by the way. The drain tube was plugged with ice. Air compressor did a fabulous job clearing the line. Anyway- the thermometer is a permanent fixture for my 20 year old fridge. I liked the thermometer so much I purchase a multi pack to replace the one in my portable shower unit, but also for my fridge in my camper, freezer in my basement.

Reasonable accuracy and exceptional value
These digital thermometers provide excellent 5-star value for the money. However, I deducted one star because the Amazon listing OVERSTATED their accuracy by a FACTOR of 20!! Performance is misrepresented in the “Product Description” by stating an accuracy of “+-0.1”, whereas the box (first photo) clearly states a more reasonable +-2 F accuracy, which the units do indeed achieve. If you bought these believing the “Product Description”, you would be sorely disappointed. (Temperature resolution is also misstated. The box correctly lists the resolution as 0.2F, whereas the “Product Description says “0.1”) I bought two lots (10 thermometers) for household A/C and temperature monitoring. A quick initial test showed that all did indeed display degrees Fahrenheit, all LED display segments appeared to work, and all displays looked crisp with high contrast in normal room light. The displays are not back-lit, so won’t be visible in the dark without some illumination. For quick initial accuracy testing, I strapped groups of 5 sensors together, and blew a boxer fan at them (second photo), allowing time for them to settle. My reference temperature was provided by a 100-ohm platinum RTD, whose accuracy has been previously verified. (It’s inside the small copper tube in the photo.) The RTD temperature was read using a four-wire hookup to a precision meter (photo 3). Results? All units were within +-0.9 F – well within the accuracy stated on the box. One was right on, five read low, and four read high. If time permits, I’ll provide a more comprehensive evaluation. Bottom line: at two bucks apiece, these digital thermometers provide exceptional value.

Solid value for the price.
Solid value for the price. I use these to monitor temps inside my entertainment center. With a home theater setup that puts out a good amount of heat, I wanted something simple to help me keep an eye on airflow and hotspots. These thermometers do exactly what I need them to. They’re accurate enough for this kind of use. I compared all five and the readings were close—within a degree or so. The probes are small and easy to tuck behind gear or route through vents. The displays are clear and easy to read at a glance. Only downside is battery life—one unit came with a weak battery, but replacements are cheap and easy to install. Bottom line: if you’re looking for basic, reliable temp monitoring without spending a lot, this is a solid pick. I’d buy them again.

Useful and good price.
They do come already turned on. All temps were nearly identical after leaving them to normalize in a room. Refresh quickly with changing temps. Compared to a higher cost thermometer the reading was nearly the same.

Buy extra batteries
Work well, but batteries are short lived because they are running when you get them. One was dead when arrived.

Good value for the price
With a 10 second update time and a probe with fairly large thermal mass these aren't a good choice for measuring rapidly changing temperatures. If this isn't a consideration in your application, their measurements track well (in 10 samples over the course of three days, mine were within 0.6°F of one another), and within 1°F of an adjacent thermometer of known calibration, which is within the packaging's +/-2°F accuracy specification. There's a typo in the range specification printed on the box which claims -20 to 110°C, and -4 to 158°F (which can't be right; water boils at 100°C/212°F). I've successfully immersed a probe to measure hot water as it rose to boiling, and tend to believe the 110°C (230°F) maximum temperature specification is correct.
