Softest finest brand of hiking sock that I have tried and I have tried many including Wigwam, Thorlo, Fox River (still a favourite), Smartwool, Icebreaker, etc. All were available on Prime for prices similar to the outfitters - lots of variations for various treks and such.Having used a number of sock brands for trekking and later for work (wick dry when pounding the pavement), Darn Tough comes out on top over and over. Have used them in the Himalayas, and Kilimanjaro as well as weekends in the Rockies. They don't cause blisters and are extremely comfortable. I prefer the heavy padded ones, but all are of excellent quality, don't bag and fit nicely.
