Excellent Buy.
Most excellent work. Up to date scholarship. Addresses the important issues in language and to political-socio factors influencing it. EXCELLENT chapter on language acquisition. The topic is very difficult to research because the topic has fallen out of favor, but is still exceptionally important. Well written. I am reading every chapter. I already know the material, but need an up to date book.

Easy to get books online.
It is a book I needed for a class in college.

Not a New York Times best seller. Meh.
I had to purchase this book for my linguistics anthropology class. A boring read. If you are someone who enjoys reading scholarly articles drier than the Mojave desert than this is the book for you.

Bought this as a textbook but actually enjoyed a bit of what I read. Of course...I'm a linguistics nerd. Ha!

Missing pages
My rental was missing the first ten pages.

Book: Living Language: An Introduction to Linguistic Anthropology, by Ahearn
The book was not up to part for rental. It was nasty with some dried up brown spots, filthy dirty. Since I can't return it right now, I just cleaned it with lysol wipes, and pray for the best. This book should have been discard.
