The antique statuette of the Guan yin is beautifully carved of precious Hetian jade that is a blend of green and gold. The pose is standing and she is carrying a water urn on her back. The carving is beautifully finished front and back. Guan yin is also called the goddess of compassion and the Buddha goddess, receiving her powers from the Buddha, and achieving a beloved status similar to Mother Mary in Christianity. The Guan yin uses her compassion, protective powers, and holy water to soothe the suffering of humanity. I suspended the carving with gold beading wire and paired it with a 4.5 mm 18 K gold filled (stamped) 23 inch chain. Photos 1 and 3 show the blended green-gold color of the jade most accurately. This is a very special, one of a kind antique carving pendant unisex necklace.
