I have been suffering with peri oral dermatitis for TWELVE years!! I guess symptoms may vary a little from person to person but mine were sore, burning, itching, angry red bumps all around my mouth and chin and lower nose. As you can imagine, I have tried every single thing you can think of and many you couldn’t think of. I went to a dermatologist at the beginning of 2014 after about 6 months of trying different things on my own. I was given a couple of topical prescriptions which didn’t work. Then he recommended Accutane which is a somewhat scary oral medication. I was reluctant to take it but I finally agreed. I took it for a year with no improvement in symptoms. So I stopped that drug and he gave me some samples of another topical. No improvement. Then he kinda threw up his hands and said, more or less, I don’t know what else to do. From then until now I’ve sporadically tried different things or just lived with it. Using makeup when I’m out and about. On May 11, 2025 I, honestly, don’t remember what made me search Amazon, yet AGAIN, for something I hadn’t tried before. Well, I saw Terrasil and read the reviews and thought okay I guess maybe I’ll try one more stupid thing that won’t work. Sigh. And then it was quite expensive so I hesitated. Anyway, I ordered and received the next afternoon. Well, the directions were to use once or twice per day. I put on a small amount all around my mouth and it seemed very benign and gentle. No burning no nothing. So I used a couple of times during afternoon/evening.(I tend to be a if some is good more is better type). The next morning when I woke up the whole peri oral area was one big SCAB and scale like I’d been burned. It wasn’t red and didn’t feel bad. Just scab, scab, scab. Well, didn’t know what to think about that really. I won’t go into boring detail about day to day improvements but, as of June 19, 2025, this miserable skin condition that I’ve suffered with all these years is 98/99% healed! The scabs and scale just sloughed off and reformed, sloughed off and reformed less and less each day. There were a few new bumps and I used a TEENY, TINY amount of Terrasil on those once a day. I’m SO, SO, SO AMAZED and HAPPY!!!! Thank you, Terrasil! I guess I should buy a lifetime supply. UPDATE: It’s now August 7, 2025. I’m still AMAZED! My peri oral dermatitis is gone but I still need to use Terrasil once per day because I can tell by a subtle burning sensation that a red bump is about to erupt. Maybe I’ll have to use indefinitely but that’s ok. Almost 3 months later I’m still on the my first .5 oz tube. But, of course, my problem is a small area and I use a tiny amount. I have another tube waiting though. ALSO, I had an actinic keratosis on my forehead. Very small, pink scaly spot from sun damage. I’ve had it for 20-25 years. I’ve used this or that cream now and then but none worked. I didn’t really care bc it’s really small and unnoticeable. However, I thought I’d just try this Terrasil that I was using for the other problem. It took 2 months of once a day use but the AK is now GONE. Yup. At least 20 years but now gone. So there ya go. Just sayin.

It’s best to get an antibacterial cream from the doctor for impetigo. But when I was in a situation in which I couldn’t see a doctor right away, I used this, and it may have actually helped. I also soaked the sore in peroxide frequently (even overnight) for a few days and applied this cream 3x per day. Pleasant surprise - the impetigo actually went away within a week, and I never did need to go to the doctor. Minus one star because it’s a pricey, very small tube.

I’m beyond happy because this balm or cream, it’s so totally works! I had no idea what is it I had between my toes so figured I’m going to try it. Now it’s been almost 4 weeks and that yuk is pretty much gone. Unfortunately I wasn’t as consistent as I should have been with it so it probably take longer, but if you apply it morning and night I’m sure results will come quicker. Well it worked for me, I’m excited to finally have this area cleaned up and no longer feel embarrassed by it! Definitely worth it of you ask me, because it’s simply works!

Another UPDATE: 3/27/24 I stoped using this product quite some time ago now. I started taking more daily vitamins, especially vitamin D and a multivitamin (mine happens to be “Women’s one a day” multivitamin. I have not had a flare up ever since. If I miss several days without taking my vitamins, start to feel the sides of my mouth beginning to burn a little. I still occasionally have the “burning mouth syndrome, but it’s actually just my tongue that gets tingly and not an entire burning mouth sensation. Hope this helps! ❤️ Update: 8/29/23 It’s been several months (5) without having any flare ups of Cheilitis. Since then, I have developed burning mouth syndrome. It could be related or not idk. So I wanted to also update this review to recommend or consider getting blood work tested to see if your deficient or low with any of your Iron, Vit B12, Vit D or Zinc levels. This helped me determine I was low in iron. After taking an Iron supplement my burning mouth syndrome subsided. Best of luck! I’m not a Dr. or health care worker but I searched everywhere for relief from the cracked corners of my mouth that would flare up from time to time. I’ve tried ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!! I’ve been to dermatologists, Ive been seen by several different Dr.s, nurses, done multiple internet searches, searched many different Medical advice websites…. EVERYTHING to figure out how to relieve the pain caused by angular cheilitis/angular stomatitis/perleche. This product is worth trying for yourself, as it not only has helped others (search the comments and other reviews) but also myself, from the cracked corners of my mouth. Again, I’m not a professional nor am I giving medical advice, I’m just another Guinea pig that has tried it all including this product and this is the ONLY thing that has FULLY CLEARED UP the cracked corners of my mouth. It’s worth a try if you’ve tried everything else and still haven’t found consistent relief. Just a few days of applying this to my lips at night and throughout the day cleared up my angular cheilitis/angular stomatitis/perleche. It might just work for you too!!!
