Alexandria Series Premium Chess Pieces 4.5"

The set is perfect.Craftsmanship is perfect. No tooling marks, surface finish is perfect, no hairline cracks, no blemishes, no loose weights, nothing! Knights are perfectly carved with no defects and literally identical!All pieces are beautiful and look actually better in person.Color of both camps is uniform throughout all pieces. Padauk is supposed to have a profound red/orange color and it does. It is quite different from some bud rosewood sets I used to own, so was a bit of a surprise. Personal taste wise, I say bud rosewood is looking better, but padauk is still a beautiful wood. See photos attached. Eventually it is supposed to turn into dark brown, so beware and choose the board color wisely.2.5” square would be perfect size.Pieces are heavy and stable. And the size/width/height ratios between pieces are perfect for my taste.I’ve owned somewhere around 30 chess sets from all major manufacturers on the market so far and this set is one of the most beautiful and so far of the best quality. And the price is awesome! 😃

I couldn't be happier. These pieces are absolutely beautiful. These are heirloom quality . The photos are great but don't have the same impact as holding one of these pieces in your hand. Now I have to find a board worthy to hold these pieces. Shipment came through customs and says the package was x-rayed. Thats a first for me. Speaking of package, each piece is shipped in its own plastic bag and inserted into a foam cut out for each individual piece. The packaged arrived completely intact with no damage. This is a very very nice product.

I was extremely impressed when I opened the box and saw a work of art with my own eyes. The color: A mixture of dark red, cherry, brown. Padauk wood is undoubtedly out of the ordinary. The color of the very elegant white pieces (boxwood). The art: Each piece has a very fine carving and finish, the horse has very beautiful details. The size: It is approved by the regulatory FIDE, I have a 23x23 chess board and it fits perfectly. I also have a 21x21 chess board and there is also no problem. I recommend anyone who wants to have a very high quality game for the price, the quality, all the finish, the excellent service from Amazon and Staunton Castle Inc.
