Nicky Bigs Novelties Tricorn Pirate Hat, Buccaneer Costume Accessory

This tricorn hat is of pretty good quality for the price. It is very comfortable, if a little snug. It is only 23 inches on the inside, so it is not good for people with large heads. The size and shape are good. It is not heavy, but rather lightweight. It is a good hat for Halloween and Renaissance fair use, which is why I bought it.

OVERALL: If you want a simple hat for a costume or prop, this will get the job done. PRO: It's sturdy enough, and the snaps hold the brim up. (Of course modern snaps aren't very period-correct or authentic.) Has a ribbon edging, so it's got a nice finished look and feel. CON: Beware that there is no adjustment for fitting. It will fit very large heads, but it will kind of flop around on average sizes and below. The depth of the "bowl" is also fairly shallow, so the hat will sit on the top of the head, and might droop into the eyes of smaller wearers. Also, you find yourself walking like you're balancing a book on your head to keep it from falling/sliding around.

This hat was great for our costume party! My husband really enjoyed it. Then our great nephew wore it for his President George Washington presentation! Hat was a little big for our 6th grader, but fit my husband! Great hat! Great quality! Was a little Squashed upon delivery, but held it's shape well. I'd post photos but my husband likes his privacy. And I don't have the now.

I had to tailor this hat and it was still small.Also there is a tag atached to the brim and not easy totake off.

Pretty decent for the price. Fits me and I have a bigger head. Happy with the purchase! Quality and shape are just fine. Snap ons work fine.

Very authentic looking hat. Based on other reviews, I did super glue the snaps just to make sure they didn’t open unintentionally, though they felt very solid anyway. As to size, the hat fit me perfectly. It has a flexible band inside to hold the hat in place on your head. Very comfortable. It is possible if your head is a size large, it might not fit. I’m a hat guy, and I have a medium sized head.

Too small for my large head. Sits high and looks funny in a bad way. Huge fabric brand label "Nicky Bigs Novelties" attached to outside of back of hat flopping around making you look like a billboard for their brand--you're supposed to be a pirate--NOT a billboard! Packaged and shipped in clear plastic bag too small for the hat--so it is scrunched and deformed to get it into package. I am returning it and the shipping label is placed over the bag opening in such a way that you cannot open without tearing the plastic bag. My personal info is on it (name/address) and so it creates a dilemma: do I return w original packaging w my name/address pasted on it, or do I return just the hat without a package (preserving my privacy)? If you have a smaller head, it may work for you. The deformed hat can be massaged back to its intended shape. I HATE the label placement, label look and label size--stupid! You can't cut the label without a white remnant remaining. This hat is a FAIL!

I got this hat to complete a pirate costume. It's much better quality than what I expected for the price, and it fit perfectly. My only complaint is that there was a large fabric Nicky Bigs Novelties tag sewn to the OUTSIDE of the hat. Thankfully I got it cut off cleanly and I glued some trim on the edges of the hat so you couldn't tell there was a tag there.

Es un tanto delgado. La apariencia es tal como en las imágenes, sin embargo el interior es poco profundo y bastante ancho, para usarse con paliacate, peluca o de plano sin depeinarse.

Not so great quality but okay

Amo este tricornio, estaba buscando algo más decente que los tricornios de disfraz que suelen venderse, y este es perfecto, se siente como un sombrero real, no como utilería barata. Lo he decorado con mis propios pins y listones, le he añadido un listón debajo para fijarlo mejor a mi cabeza, y el tricornio ha resistido todo, y me ha acompañado en sol y lluvia por ya algunos meses, 100% recomendado. Mi única crítica es que es demasiado grande para la mayoría de cabezas, yo tuve que añadir por dentro una tela y una liga para mantenerlo firme, ya que se movía constantemente y me bloqueaba la vista.
