Benchmark Leather Watch Band - Crazy Horse Oiled Leather One-Piece Watch Straps for Men or Women - 18mm, 20mm, 22mm or 24mm Widths

Real leather, much, much better than Barton’s Straps more expensive “leather” Nato style strap offering. Things to be aware of: I purchased a couple of straps, and the leather thickness varied so much that there was a one-hole difference between the straps. (See photo.) The thicker straps will be a tight fit on some watches and leave a mark if you thread the strap between the spring bars and case. (See photo.) If you have small (6 1/4”) wrists, you’ll find that the strap is too long. If you have thicker leather, you will not be able to tuck it into the keeper. You may also need to punch a new hole. I purchased a 20 mm half-round leather punch and a 1.5 mm hole punch, which solved both problems for me. (I bought 18mm straps—you won’t find 18mm half-round punches, however. It was worth the expense; the straps now fit like a dream. See photo.) Finally, if the strap is a little tight, you can pull it to stretch it a little bit; it’s good leather.

From literal end to end (edge of buckle to pointed tip of other end) it is 11.5 inches. Real leather, soft and pliable. The color (green) was as pictured/advertised. This is comfortable, feels and looks well-made and I would buy another if I had a need for a 2nd watch band. BTW, it may be hard to tell from the pictures, but this is a NATO strap (this is what I ordered and a NATO strap is what I received). That is a positive. It fits my Timex Expedition watch ideally.

The leather is a bit thick for my watch but I made it work. It matches the dial super well, better than I expected. Feels good in the wrist just wish that the nato style bands were a bit shorter (that’s just me). The leather has a bit of stretch and rebounding. I use some moisturizer on it and any scuffs blend or go away.

Very high quality band, especially for the price. I purchased it to replace the original band on my Fossil watch that was "genuine leather", meaning nothing more than plastic leather, not actual leather. This band you can tell is the real deal made out of quality leather not crappy plastic "leather" by the way it scuffs and the smell. I have a Timex Weekender that has the same style of band and the original Timex band is significantly thinner than this band, I will be buying a second to update my Timex band as well. Changing it out was very easy. Took less than 5 minutes. The dark brown color with the silver is beautiful! This band is the perfect size for either a smaller wrist like I have or a large wrist. If you have a smaller wrist, you'll have to tuck the end into itself, which I don't mind at all. Actually, I prefer this look. It's a good stiffness and flexibility, not too loose. Not too stiff. It's too early to tell how easy or hard this will be to clean, but with it being leather all you'll have to do is condition it every once in awhile and it'll be looking good for a long time.

The Good: it's real leather, it's a really amazing color, and it looks good, looks like a quality leather band at a casual glance. I've worn this band for about a year, nearly every day. I wear it watering the yard, in the craft shop, doing the dishes, on my bike - it goes where I go rain or shine, and I've really enjoyed it. The Bad: It's bonded leather, not full grain. That means it's ground up leather reshaped into leather sheets and resurfaced with something that smooths out the finish. For what it is it, looks & feels darn good. But as I've gotten it wet, banged it around, and taken it on and off every day, it has begun to stretch out. Still looks alright, but is starting to go out of shape and show signs of wear. I can't really complain... you get what you pay for. If you only plan to wear it to work or for mostly indoor socializing, this is a great choice. If you're looking for something that will take abuse in the big wild world and last more than a year, get one of those woven NATO bands, or better yet, full grain leather.

I haven't had it very long, but so far I like it very much. It perfectly complements the Timex Expedition chrono I put it on and makes it truly look like a retro aviator watch. The leather color is perfect. The strap itself is a bit thin and I suppose it will stretch and/or wear rather quickly, and I do try to keep it dry, but as far as looks are concerned, it's a hit. I got a "Nice watch!" the very first day I wore it, from a gas station attendant. It's a $50 Timex chrono with this strap, so we're not talking fancy... but it wears with style, especially if you like that retro Long Range Desert Patrol or "Rat Patrol" look. Since I'm currently fascinated by pseudo aviators these days, this is a good way to make that statement for not a lot of money, and the NATO strap helps tremendously. I'm new to the G10 NATO and Zulu, but I'm already experimenting with others (I also like black nylon "special ops" style, which I just put on my old Chase-Durer UDT chrono). I hope this is as good a buy as it seems to be. If it is, I will try more. (After several months of use, this fairly thin band has stretched some and has become stained with sweat, so it doesn't look as sharp as it first did. If your watch is a rugged outdoor type, then it's probably all right, but it won't look as dressed-up as you might prefer. Knock a star off for this, but I still like the strap all in all.) --W.D. I love it when I take a swing on a product online and end up pleasantly surprised. These leather NATOs really delivered in that regard. I picked up the Oxblood and Dark Green colorways. The Oxblood, in particular, is an absolutely beautiful color. I wish the Dark Green was a little "more green" and a little less muted, but I still enjoy it. Overall they really do look great. The leather also impressed me. It looks, feels, and smells the part, though it has a good deal of stretch and I don't think it is full grain. The stretch, incidentally, gives it a pretty weightless and comfortable feel on the wrist. At this price point, the fake stuff that is bonded to nylon webbing wouldn't have surprised me, so again kudos on that. While I think these straps are a 5-star value, I don't think they are a 5-star product overall. They do have some issues. First is the overall fit and adjustment. The strap is a bit shorter than a standard NATO, which is awkward because NATOs are supposed to be long, and you fold excess tag end back in on itself. When I wear this strap I am on the second-to-tightest adjustment hole, and there is too much tag end left to just let it stick out, but there is just barely enough to fold it over. It's kinda awkward to deal with. For the record, I have a pretty average 7.25" wrist. If your wrist is under 7.00" you might need to look elsewhere unless you are willing to punch some more holes in this thing. My only other complaint is hardware finish options. The polished finish looks great, but I would've preferred a brushed option (for my particular watches). Some more options would be awesome. At the end off the day I'm pretty happy with how much I spent for what are two great looking straps. Will definitely be checking out more of the Benchmark Basics catalog.

Good quality leather, looks amazing and very comfortable. Absolutely love the color, the only drawback I can think of is that it can scratch a little but it "heals" if rubbed as a typical leather product does.
