It's inexpensive yet works better than expensive hair dyes. It has no smell and no irritation, which is exactly what I wanted. But something happened 4 years ago that caused my to be very sensitive to hair dyes. I get big itchy scabby things on my scalp and little itchy pimple like things on my neck and ears. I thought I was going to have to only get my hair professionally done until I tried this dye. It’s not the deep rich black that I used to get, but it’s a good black that doesn’t have a blue or red to it. I find that I have to make sure I completely rinse it out of my hair and I shampoo my hair daily for the next few days. I even used the developer that came in the box. Before, for home dyes, I would buy a sensitive skin developer to use with the dye. The only downside is there were no gloves included. I mix this in a bowl and apply with a brush. I didn’t find the smell to have that strong at home dye smell. I have subscribed to this. I was initially turned off by the price.
