GM Parts 12384973 Transfer Case Four Wheel Drive Actuator Insulator

Installing a transfer case actuator motor on a Silverado is not a whole lot of fun to be sure. Although the old actuator insulator can be re-used - sometimes - I don't suggest it. Having learned the hard way that using an old one can be more trouble than it's worth especially when it's covered in dried-out RTV, I ordered a new one from these folks. I'm glad I did! Shipped quickly and very well - almost too well - packaged, the insulator was a perfect fit. Would highly recommend this Seller.

Good GM part. I'm actually just writing this review to say that this can be easily made to fit the earlier pre 2003 246 transfer cases. The correct early style plate was discontinued. This plate is identical to the pre 2003 version except for one side. They changed the shape to match an update to the case. It's just a cosmetic adjustment to get this to fit the older cases. Use the old part as a template (line up the holes) mark with a marker and cut it with a pair of wire snips. Once it's roughed out sand it smooth on a belt sander or with a rotary tool (this is optional if you don't care about how the finished edge looks). See the photos for details.
