These work great I love the compact feel light weight easy to use as well good sound and picture not an issue one!

I bought this because I wanted something to play the few DVDs I still have, which mainly consist of British TV shows that you can't buy digitally and are also not the right region to play on our Xbox. It is small, compact, simple, and very light. As stated, it does play formats other than region 1 (which I also tested and that works fine), including my British TV shows that are region 2. Battery life using the AC adapter is really good and true to what is stated. The volume is adequate for my needs, picture quality is average, the headphone plug works, the remote works, it does remember where you left off in a show for the most part as far as I can tell if you power it down in the middle of something, and it can even do subtitles if the DVD supports it. I haven't tried the USB, mainly because I have nothing to try it with. IMO opinion, the value you get for the money on this is good and I am really happy that I took a chance on this item. If you buy this, be sure to adjust your expectations. You are getting what you pay for. Will it work? Yes, unless you somehow get a dud. But, it isn't going to have amazing picture or sound quality or tons of fancy features or have a battery that lasts 24 hours before its next charge is needed, and it gets confused if you do too much with the buttons at once. But if you, like me, just want something that plays DVDs, this is it. I will caution that I don't recommend buying this for children, unless you plan to heavily supervise them while they use it. It's really a very fragile piece of equipment that I don't see withstanding the kind of abuse that children, especially young children, can inflict on such things. This is not because it is not a quality item for what you have spent on it, it's simply because it is not built for children specifically. If it is dropped, from no matter what height, I am 100% it will not work anymore--remember DVDs, like CDs, work using a laser and also there is a balance that must be sustained for the DVD to spin properly. It doesn't take much to damage either of those things, whether from a fall, too much jostling, etc. The physical buttons are sturdy, but, as I said earlier, it gets confused if you try to push too many at once to skip around; eventually, it may get confused enough to simply break down to a point where even turning it on and off will not fix it. If I needed something for a child to use, I'd look for something sturdier even if it meant spending more.

This just what I was looking for! And I’m no kid! I’m a 58 year old lady who loves to watch all the good old shows I grew up with while laying in my bed at night. The picture is great and so is the sound! I have no complaints! I haven’t had it long, but if it breaks I promise to come back on and update my review. The screen is small, I’ve included a pic of my phone on the screen to give you a clue as to how big the screen is in comparison to a phone. And I don’t have a big phone. But I love the small screen. I purposely shopped for a small screen.

every time I tried 3 different brands of portable DVD player I ended up with a lemon. This was no exception. I'm sending it back. Every DVD I played froze solid. They never freeze on my standard DVD player. The battery life was never more than 4 1/2 hours. The sound? Let's just say my Android phone has louder sound . Much louder. Needless to say, I'm done buying portable DVD players. How reviews could reach a 5 star level is beyond me. I guess I'm just not lucky, that's all. EDIT: Company customer service informed me that they would make good my issue with the portable DVD player. They offered a full refund or a new replacement. While I appreciate the offers presented to me I prefer to assume I just don't have any luck with portable DVD players. My original 2-star rating seemed a little low because it was made under an emotional state of being disappointed. I chose not to have another player sent because these devices seem to malfunction in some way for me. It's not so much that YONTON is poorly made, rather, it's because every other company player I tried malfunctioned in some way. I don't blame YOTON. Every electronic device from any company has occasional issues. I increased my rating because customer service was willing to make things right. And they did so without arguing over it. I appreciated that. Do I now recommend that customers should give YONTON a try? Sure. After all, there are plenty of 5-star satisfied customers who bought this YONTON brand player. I just assume I'm not one of the lucky ones. The player itself seemed to be well built. When it didn't freeze on me it played wonderfully. To be honest I was heartbroken to return it. I loved the smaller screen size. So I don't blame YONTON for what happened with the unit I received. If the product wasn't a good product there wouldn't be any or many 5-star ratings. There are plenty. Therefore, because of having had time to evaluate my original rating and customer service's offer to make things right I increased my rating to a 4-star. P.S. all electronics should be sold on a TRY BEFORE YOU PAY FOR 30 DAYS deal. Had YONTON sent me a player FREE as a GIFT on the stipulation I provide my Amazon rating I would have taken it. The reason I didn't take up their offer for a new one was because it could have led to another RETURN. With my luck it probably would have. And this disappoints me because the smaller screen was what attracted me to YONTON. BUYERS: go ahead and give this unit a try. Plenty have and love their purchase. Poor electronic products always seem to slip through on occasion for every manufacturer. So in light of having had opportunity to re-think the situation and calm down I changed my rating to a 4-star. My original 2-star was an emotional one (out of frustration) and shouldn't have been made.

I enjoyed using this player and testing all the functions during my first week and beyond. Convenient and pleasant to use for lap and table-top uses. I am now using it mainly to play MP3 CD's and MP3 DVD's that I prepare on my PC. Connecting the audio out cable to stereo bookshelf speakers produces an amazing improvement in sound quality. The remote provides more helpful features; good to learn all the possible functions. Reviewer GLynn mentioned the USB input. THIS ADDS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR MP3 AUDIO. Few Concerns: The lowest sound level (from internal speakers) is still kinda loud. When connecting A/V out to a TV, the audio comes out of the TV and the player. (Can plug in headphones to audio out to mute on-board speakers.) When playing a CD (with text labels) or MP3 variations, the folder-file labels are helpful but truncated. Still trying to figure out what NES controller works with the player (not SNES or XBox). UPDATE: Yoton customer service is excellent. They explained which controllers work with the player and offered to send me one. Thank You !!!

Hands down one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time! The price is cheaper than most so I was worried it wasn’t going to be great quality but it’s awesome! And so durable. My son has definitely put it through the wringer and it still works great! Picture quality is also great
