These are a mix between athletic and more of a sheer top. Not silly at all teally

Q: Do these cause any friction when running?

I'm not a runner, just walking fast. I'm large (6'5", 280) and I love these socks. I do not experience any friction but I'm assuming for a runner the shoes involved have much to do with the friction experienced. I've used thicker socks and thinner socks and these have a "happy medium" for me. Hope it helps!

Q: Is it a seamless toe? My son hates the seams?.

Not seamless as expressed in the third image in the ad. However, the smooth seam is unnoticeable by feel and not even easy to see. I like mine.
