I have a pair of cufflinks that came with studs, and it works just like normal. You'll notice the shirt sticks out a small amount where the studs are, it doesn't lay totally flat, but otherwise they can work and will not be visible behind the shirt. **Q: Could these be used with little boys shirts?** A: I don't see why not. I personally think these are great. I really enjoy wearing cufflinks and these will allow me to wear them with my "non french cuff" shirts. They basically add a "button hole" to your cuff so you can use cuff links with "normal" shirts.
