great kit for the price, but very basic and plain. good for color and battle scaring practice though.

But this kit is very fun to build
First of all, This kit is designed and made in 1999. It cannot be compared to HG grade kits. No policap, very hard plastic, little gaps between parts, entire kit is green and so on.. But this kit is very fun to build, paint and modify. Adding just dark green and dark gray color gives life to the kit. I put 3mm led on the eyes to give more flavor. Recommend to those people who want the memories or hard core gunpla addicts!!

Excellent kit, molded in one color and with no heat hawk weapon
I bought four of these in one go to practice painting and battle-scarring my gunpla, as my other kits are all Master Grades and therefore I was afraid to experiment with customizing them.I didn't realize when they came in that the suit would only be molded in one color, the light green that makes up most of the body. Even the machine gun is molded in this color. However, given that I wanted to use this kit to practice painting, this actually ended up quite well for me. This is an official Bandai release, not a knockoff as I initially suspected, so the detail is sharp and the plastic is great quality. To paint this kit you really only need a military dark green for the torso and skirt, a dark grey for the feet, cockpit, backpack, knees, and inner frame, and a black for the machinegun and detailing. The simplicity of this kit and the fact that it has relatively few pieces makes it a lot easier to paint, as you can tell immediately by looking at them which parts of the kit are what, without having to consult the manual and mark them up ahead of time. The articulation on the kit is quite good, being able to move in most of the ways you'd expect. Be warned, though-- the skirt armor is not articulated, which will hamper some of the leg movement. The only disappointment I had with this kit is that it does not come with the trademark Zaku heat hawk weapon, but instead only has the Zaku Machinegun as armament. For the price, though, that's hardly a problem.

Know what youre buying
Know what you're buying before you decide to make the purchase. If you read the descriptions/reviews carefully and still buy it, you'll be happy with your purchase. This comes molded in one single color, and has much better articulation than a No Grade model, albeit not as good as a high grade of course. It is intended as a kit for beginners to learn how to remove the pieces from the sprues without damage, and to practice painting techniques. It is also a great model for more experienced builders who want to scavenge parts, build cannon fodder for a display, or take the plunge into custom gunpla and practice on something that they wont feel bad about tossing in the bin if they massacre the model.I bought one for my nephew as a present to get into models, and one for myself just so I could see what 5$ gets you these days - overall, I am very impressed at what i got for my money.

cheapest must flimsy kit ever.
This is a cheap model kit. The box says it's First Grade. I didn't even know there was that grade of Gundam kits. HG is the lowest grade I thought they made. This is flimsy, feels cheap, easily breakable, and falls apart when handled. The hands keep falling off and the tubes fit the arms and legs don't even fit on the model.

But that being said it is still a pretty fun build for those who need something to build ...
The small image they use to advertise this is a joke and it's almost criminal to advertise it with color. But that being said it is still a pretty fun build for those who need something to build or want to make there own custom colored model with some of their own paint. What you get is 3 sheets of snap off parts. These parts only come in one color and the model comes with not paint or even decals. For just 8 bucks it hard to expect much else however even some of the part don't pair well. The head becomes most obvious where the manufactures thought it was a good idea have the head cut right down the middle. When put together the face does not line up properly. If you're looking for something to desplay it's best to splurge for a higher grade model.

but it looks cool, great value
It does need some paint for the eye area and all the pieces are uniform in color... but it looks cool, great value!

Priced right.
For 5 bucks? Not bad. Literally every part of this kit is the same color, even the gun, so you will be painting. Its actually quite articulate, even while lacking poly caps you can infact move and pose all the joints.
