COMPATIBILITY? INSTRUCTIONS ARENT CLEAR - READ THIS
I've got a 2021 Model 3 Long Range. Everything is pretty simple for the most part. All bolt on plug and play stuff. Keep in mind when attaching the new actuated cable the latch must be in thr furthest out position before checking for tightness!! It was driving me crazy because no matter what I did the cable wasn't tight. You have to pull one lever back to pull the other out further to make it tighter. I'm sure this sounds confusing but it will make more sense when installing! I included a picture and hope that helps. Also this doesn't work on most 2022 models that have the newer update. Here's the easiest way to check. Pop your frunk open, remove the large plastic peice that runs near the bottom of the windshield (it just pops off no tools required) and check to see what kind of 12v battery you have. If it looks like a "normal" battery with metal terminal ends on each side (one will be have a red positive cover as seen in picture) then this IS compatible with your Tesla. The newer updated battery has a white/black/green switch looking thing in the middle of it and no exposed terminal ends. If this is the battery you have this kit is NOT compatible.Other than that it works great just as advertised! I got lucky as I have a 2021 model but 2022 owners should definitely check first!

Needs parts to be connected with screws not sticky tape
I have owned this for a year and a half. The tape that has held the motor onto the frame of the car has failed several times causing a couple of tense locked frunk scares. After the frunk latch failed I decided it was no longer worth the hassle of upkeep to have a powered frunk that I dont use as often as I would like to. When you can keep the motor mounted it works as advertised. If it ever falls off from the mount it fails.Looking back I regret the purchase and would not do it again for a part of my car I dont use often. Save your money and really think about this before you buy it.

Easy install at home
Easy install worked well for 2 weeks then would not open. Suction motor did not release first stage. Emergency pull cable initially did not work by hand but with some tools and greater force to pull the cable, (saw on a video from google search, can’t find now) able to open. Now working like a dream. Can’t go back to manual open close.

Works great… for a while
The various interpretations of the terribly written instructions made it difficult to install, but after a couple hours was able figure it all out. Worked great for about a year till the cable for the suction motor gave out. Likely due to the factory release spring being too strong and the replacement softer spring mentioned in the instructions was not included in this version.

Not exactly easy to install, but I use my frunk more now
I was getting tired of seeing fingerprints on the hood of my car every time I used the frunk. After several reviews and installation videos, I decided to get the Hansshow power frunk. Installation is not exactly easy, but there are MANY installation videos and most of them show a step-by-step tutorial on how to install it, so the only real misstep I had was fishing out a screw I dropped. I would recommend watching a few tutorials first before installing it, as several of the videos made some mistakes or had some confusing instructions that were better explained elsewhere, but I didn't find a "perfect" instructional video. As advertised, it worked with the Tesla app and the command console. I've had it for over a year now, and only had issues with it closing a few times. Usually it didn't close because it bumped into something that prevented it from lowering far enough to hit the latch. The mechanism isn't too strong, so even hitting the top of a paper shopping bag can prevent it from lowering enough for it to latch. I did have one incident where it just refused to latch shut. Manually shutting it did not help it close the next time I used the powered mechanism, so instead I used the Tesla app to have the powered mechanism open and close a few times, and after the second or third attempt it shut like normal. It's a pricey accessory, but I am very satisfied with the results.

Latch motor planetary gear failure
Installation was pretty straight forward. I had had this installed for 5 months when I noticed a grinding sound upon closing the frunk lid, when the latch motor engaged to lock the hood down. Support via Hansshow is poor; I emailed them, was asked to intimate contact via WhatsApp and never heard more from them. I removed the Hansshow kit and installed the similar kit from EVOffer. The latch motor’s planetary gears look to have sheared off teeth. Guessing the long term reliability of this kit is hot garbage.

Very Simple to install , Fix for if it doesn’t latch close , Warning for 2022 Models.
The media could not be loaded. Install was fairly simple, one of the video installers had steps that he missed so I suggest watching it and figuring out what he skipped over. You only need two different sizes for the wrench, one for the latch and frunk , and a bigger size for the suspension. If you have a small gear wrench kit that would work perfectly and speeds up the process. The 2022 model have the new li-ion battery which doesn’t have the typical nut connection needed for the power, you can either use a small nut and bolt to tighten the connection into the red positive terminal which is covered by a red plastic + cap of the battery or tighten it with Eletrical tape. Some of the videos are outdated.Warning: During Install your car might sound the alarm and it’s extremely louder than usual without any hood cover so make sure to power off the car under the safety settings in the car touchscreen. If your hood doesn’t close on the latch it’s possible your new latch you attached on directly over the OEM Latch is too low, simply loosen the two nuts, Pull up 3cm, and retighten the latch mechanism and would be elevated enough for the hood’s hook to reach in once it pushes down, those 3cm mater.

It didn’t install properly on my 2022
After installation, the frunk would not close all of the way. The struts do not compress enough to reach the frunk latch. Tried to call for technical support, but the numbers are in China. Returned the product. Not sure what is different between the 2021 and 2022 version or their V5. Happy to hear if someone else had luck doing the installation. I want this feature on my car.
