It's a great size. The bag it comes with doubles as storage for small items like sunscreen and a glasses case too. I bought it to fit in the back of a very small sports car and it fits great, lightweight and about as durable as you'd expect from any beach umbrella. Mine was shipped with a corkscrew style plastic anchor that worked perfectly well for anchoring it in the sand. I'm not sure why others have complained about the design. It's outlasted two $40 umbrellas I bought locally. A few tips that seem obvious, but apparently have surprised others: The tilt only goes in one direction, but ya, it's a radially symmetrical object, so you simply spin the base to have it tilt in the direction you'd like. I do so as the sun moves. For middday sun, a 6ft umbrella isn't going to cover larger people. This is good for two small people sitting up to share or for one person laying down. It's probably obvious, but just in case it isn't, the higher the umbrella sits the more shade you can produce. Since you can adjust the height of the umbrella's base shaft, you can adjust the height a bit. This will also help with wind (ideally I face the umbrella toward the wind so that any force is pushing it closed, not open like a sail.) Likewise, keeping the umbrella lower keeps it more stable on those windy carribean days. Honestly, I've been very pleasantly surprised by this little purchase. It's not perfect (for everyone) but it's perfect for me. For a small easy to carry umbrella it's great! If you're small, skinny and or shorter than 5'5" you can likely wear the bag like a backpack which is nice too. This thing is way better than those plastic wrapped umbrellas you buy at any of the tourist traps. I can't complain.

I’m really really happy with this. I used it for the first time today and it was not only portable in the pouch it comes in but lighter than I expected. It was easy for me to assemble without instructions or having ever put a beach umbrella together before. The anchor went in easily with the spinning and stood firm the whole time. I never felt at risk of it toppling or getting blown away. It provided very good coverage as well (full body/lounger) and proved to be money well spent through my 4 hours on the beach today. I’m excited for this addition to my new beach routine.

I drive a small convertible to the beach so trunk space is a premium. This umbrella is fantastic! My only issue was that the section with the corkscrew needed its bolts tightened and add some lock tight. Otherwise it has been solid and goes with me and the wife everywhere!

We often fly into San Diego to go to the beach. The hotel we stay usually has a couple of Tommy Bahama umbrellas for guests but they are often in use by other guests. I've looked for a packable beach umbrella for years but nothing was short enough to fit in my TravelPro checked luggage. Some of the reviews made me cautious but a even a possibly bad umbrella is better than no umbrella so I bought it. It's definitely lightweight. Like there are little strings holding the ribs to the canopy in places but it did a pretty good job. We used it for 8 days with wind from 5mph to 12mph. The umbrella was stable and showed no sign of being vibration or stress in those winds. Also the silvery inner lining made for excellent shade for those of us from cloudier areas. So, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars. It's not quite as ruggedly made as I would have liked and it could be a little bigger but it sure beats paying the same amount for a cheap umbrella from a beach store that I'd have to throw out at the end of the trip. Also, it's got really good handles and sand screw for anchoring it down into the sand. I think they are even better than the ones on the Tommy Bahama umbrellas.

I love this umbrella! It's so lightweight but sturdy at the same time. I thought it might be flimsy but it's not. It comes apart and goes together very easily. And the handles make it very easy to get it into and out of the sand. Easy set up after the the 1st post in the sand. The umbrella itself is great at 6ft in diameter. Plus it's adjustable which is wonderful for a full day at the beach. I've used this several times and am so happy with this purchase. I have a small car, so I needed something that would fit in the trunk. And it didn't disappoint! I have 2 folding beach chairs in bags as well. and I can carry both chairs, the umbrella, and my other backpack all at the same time with no problem at all. This is lightweight, and the carry bag with the strap makes it easy to handle. Can't brag on this enough. It's built well and did great on a windy day. For the price you can't beat it! If something does happen to this one, I'll definitely replace it with the same one.

Junk!!! Live on the fll beach bought this umbrella for beach usage The first time I used it 2 hinges broke With a mild wind more like a breezy day than a windy day, which makes it useless . I am very particular on what I purchase because I don't believe in waisting nor filling the land fields with unwanted items that dont work or that are made to be disposable. This is a ridiculously a poorly made item. I waited to long to use it and so I am to late to return it for a refund. So just another item to go to the land field... What a shame. I did do a lot of research on Amazon before I purchased this umbrella so maybe I got a faulty one.

Solid frame and material. Easy to transport and very compact!

This small and lightweight umbrella is perfect for carrying to the beach. It comes apart in several pieces and fits into a bag with a shoulder strap. The base was easy to screw down into the sand and was very sturdy. Be aware this umbrella is a little low and small, but I’m 5’ and fit under it just fine. It throws just enough shade for my chair. Wind was 11mph and hardly moved the umbrella at all. Made my solo beach days much more enjoyable.

Purchased this for a trip. Great to travel with, but it broke on the first opening. Very disappointed in the quality. Not able to return as the date has passed. Basically a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend.

I have used it a few times and is easy to assemble and has a nice screw base for sand. I don't know about other rockier soils. Light weight and compact. A good addition to your vacation package. The system seem robust and will last me many years

Excellent product, you can put in your suitcase, very compact, practical with great attention to detail, excellent materials. Now I don’t have to buy a parasol in every destination 🙂
