Party With Pride Giant 8' Rainbow Beach Umbrella / With UV Protection / Includes Durable Carry Bag / For Sun and Outdoor / Windproof (Rainbow)

We purchased the Star Spangled Banner motif which is FANTASTIC and a GREAT patriotic display over the 4th of July Weekend at the beach. Sturdy enough to resist being blown over (if dug into the sand deep enough and at a slight angle). We take a small / miniature shovel with us to effortlessly dig deep enough into the sand and place the pole into a sand anchor. Although this umbrella comes with a sand anchor, its "wings" (the little collapsible handles on ether side with which to twist it into the sand) can break off. We purchased a beast at Walmart for $5 which is solid hard plastic throughout. Packaging of the umbrella was SHAMEFUL. One piece of tape along the length of the seam to tape the box closed came undone during shipping and allowed the carrying bag inside the shipping carton to sustain a tear during shipping but, due to needing the umbrella asap, we didn't complain. Overall, excellent umbrella and "these colors don't run."

I've never actually had a beach umbrella before but this one seems fantastic. Super easy to put together straight out of the pack, easy to open and adjust. I love that the too can be inclined and the included anchor works well. Except that once sand gets lodged into the lock mechanist between the anchor and pole it's impossible to remove so they are now permanently together. Doesn't much matter and it may be possible to somehow take them apart but we'll only be using it for San anyway and don't wanna risk damaging it. But the umbrella stayed in it's place with decently strong winds while an umbrella right behind us flew out of the sand and hit someone. So there is that. The thing to keep in mind is that this sucker is TALL. It was the tallest umbrella on a beach that was so full we were basically all bumping elbows and nearly every single person had one.

Beyond being a beautiful umbrella, is the awesome service by the seller who checks in to make sure everything went well. In my case a small hiccup happened from shipping/handling damage that created a tear in the bag that it came in and without question, once mentioned to the seller and before I knew it, a new bag was in my mailbox. Only suggestion I would have for improvement would be for the strap on the carrying bag to be a little wider … Because it's quite thin it kind of cuts into your hand or shoulder as you carry around the umbrella. Only reason I'm taking it down one star.

This umbrella has served its function for us. We do not use the ground spike but we use it on our deck table and by the pool with a mount we created for it. It has stood up to wind here in the plains but it was beginning to rust on the inner joints by the end of the season last year. It also faded in the first two weeks. We left it folded on our deck table and when we went to open it, it was striped blue and purple (where the blue faded). It looked AWFUL and cheap. Within a month of occasional use it was faded completely to purple and it is now a grayish purple a year later.I gave it 3 stars because it has done okay structurally and provided us shade. But the rusting within a season and the immediate fading on an OUTDOOR product makes it just "okay".

The actual umbrella is FANTASTIC. Big enough for 2 people plus your cooler. However, you will need to buy your own sand anchor...the one it comes with is very cheap and doesn't work well. You will also need to buy a bag to carry the umbrella in....the handle ripped off the plastic bag it came in as I was walking to the beach the first time. That being said, it is hard to find a 8' beach umbrella so I was fine with it but it did cost me an additional $35 to buy the other 2 items.

I admit that I have not used the included ground screw, which looks like it ought to work, but on my deck it gets 5 stars. I Always have an umbrella on my deck, to keep the snow off of me in the winter. This one is different in that the underside of the cloth panels is coated with a white film which blocks more of the sun's rays and also makes it thicker and stronger. The whole thing is pretty tall for me, but light enough to maneuver the closing mechanism, which also works well. I keep it in a small cast iron stand and bungee it to the deck and it has taken a very wind - stormy spring very well. I would buy it again, if it is still available.

We took this to the beach today and could not get it to remain in place even though the day was not exceptionally windy. The handles on the sand anchor prevent getting the anchor sufficiently deep to hold the umbrella in place. I noticed another umbrella that had the handles about half way up the lower pole and it seemed to work much better. We finally gave up on holding the umbrella in place and took it down. I will be returning it - it is totally useless for the beach!Update - we tried the umbrella again on a less windy day and tried to find a spot where the sand was not as soft. The umbrella did much better on days without much wind. It wasn't great, but it served the purpose.

I have used this Umbrella 2 times. The second time, there was some moderate wind. So far, so good. I had commented earlier that the strap on the carry bag broke instantly. (I don't know what happened to that first review). I did not buy this item for the carry strap, so it did not affect my original 5 star rating. But still, I was instantly contacted by the seller's customer service department. They sent me a new carry bag with what looks like, a stronger handle. That is good customer service. I still haven't used the umbrella during stronger winds that are typical at the South Jersey shore. When I do, I will update this review.
