Great poetry debut!
I immediately pre-ordered Dawn Lanuza's first poetry book once I knew of it. We're both into poetry and she recommends some and I read it. It's been like that. Her snippets and teasers prior to release day were promising (more than promising) so I kept getting more excited for it. But in reality, when Adrien bb the Kindle finally had it and I was about to start it, I GOT SCARED. WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE IT? It would be ~super~ awkward to keep mum about the book because I didn't love it and even if I didn't review it because I didn't want to rate it badly, I mean, Dawn would know that I didn't like it, right? Because I was so excited for it and I just disappeared. So I am so so relieved because I definitely liked Dawn's first poetry book and I hope it wouldn't be the last of hers. This is a short collection and you'll finish it so quickly, well that is, if you can read them in one go. I know some people weren't able to because sometimes feelings can knock you over. The collection's divided into parts, parts of a relationship and the inevitable break-up. (Because they all end! HAHA) With that, the collection has a theme so that it evokes almost the same emotions. A lot of the poems are about romance, of what-could-have-beens and what-I-miss and what-I-wish. Which you know, had me feeling things, LOTS OF THINGS. Some were too true that they're kind of painful (about love and romance not happening to you because you won't let it) and some were fears that were hard for me to acknowledge and even more, vocalize (of decoys and related to that, this tweet by @sosadtoday). Most of the poems were short but I think the short ones actually pack the harder punches.I think my only criticism of this collection is that I kind of felt it was repetitive? Although I could get past that since it's a themed collection. Imagery of beds were quite common or was it just me? And I guess because there's a specific theme, like I mentioned, the emotions it evoked from me were pretty much the same, but then again, not a glaring issue here. But oh boy, do I loved the few poems on depression. I lapped those up and they had me feeling more (probably because all my love woe-is-me feelings are from my lack of one brought upon by my fear of ~real things and connections and risks~) than the bygone-romance poems. All in all, a great poetry debut from Dawn Lanuza! This will give you F E E L I N G S so be ready for those.

A poetry collection about first love, loss, and heartbreak
The Last Time I'll Write About You is a beautiful poetry collection about first love, loss, and heartbreak. I really liked this book but some of the poems felt a little choppy at times. I think for someone who has felt the pain of losing their first love will definitely get sucked in by these poems and their beauty. The following two poems were my absolute favorites and really spoke to me.MODERN VAMPIRESThe sun burns my skinIn your bed as we layIt’s a clear sign:We’re not made for the day. We’re creatures of the nightStraddled in the sheetsThe dawn is in sightWe part as soon as we meet.andIN HINDSIGHTDarkness is a friendWe’ve been long acquaintedIt was nice knowing your lightBut I couldn’t be mendedSadness is a cloakI wear around my shouldersYou let the sun soakOn my skin to recoverBut the dark, it remainsAnd you were slowly fadingYou bring the sun,But it keeps on setting.I definitely recommend this book for everyone who loves poetry. I'm sure a lot of people will connect with the poems since it's about the universal theme of heartbreak and longing. The ending of the collection is very satisfying and the last poem was definitely one of my favorite parts of the entire collection.

... kind of shamed me for it because were not like "feely" "emotional" type and it really put me down ...
I used to write poems and be really into them and i was just a poetic little person lol but when my family found them they kind of shamed me for it because were not like "feely" "emotional" type and it really put me down and recently i have been wanting to write again but its hard for me to "switch" it back on since it was all shut down at a young age and discouraged and seen as dumb or useless and irrelevant. This is a good start and I want to get back into writing again just need to find my voice again. i also got "our numbered days", "milk and honey", "this is me letting you go" and I am open to suggestions if anyone would like to let me know thanks!

Spellbinding
The reason why I tend to avoid poetry book is that, majority of them talks about LOVE specifically romantic love. I have zero experience regarding that matter so whenever I read poems about love, I'm apathetic towards them. But The Last Time I'll Write About You tugged my heartstrings. Yes, it's about love. But this time around, I could relate to the poems. Some were even like my thoughts that were put into words. It's like the author managed to have a peek in my heart, and wrote poems about it."You read these thingsAnd you ask the world,Why doesn't it happenTo someone like you?Deep in your heart,You knew the answer:It's because you don't let it."This book hits my heart so deeply. It's beautiful, heart wrenching and spellbinding.

Love it!!!
Pre-ordered this and finished it in one-sitting when it went live. Dawn really has a way with her words. Her poetry is just on-point. I hope she publish more poems in the future. One of my favorites from this book is...CONFESSIONI told everyoneI love youSorry if they knew before youTo be fair,I think everyone knewBefore I did, too.The truth in her words, the heartbreak, the longing, you'll really feel them as if they are yours.

the last time
This is a great read for someone going through a rocky relationship or simply a break up. Although I'm happy in my relationship, it did hit home and reminded me of my share of heartbreak emotions. Made me realize how you can be so into someone even after they go. But life goes on and eventually things always get better :)

Poor quality
Again, the cover of this book was flimsy. The book itself was an okay read.

A romantic poetry collection
If you're fairly new to poetry (like I am), then I'd say you would enjoy this. A romantic book of poetry about love and loss.

Beautiful poetry collection!
The Last Time I’ll Write About You is Dawn Lanuza’s first poetry collection and I loved it! The Last Time I’ll Write About You is a poetry collection about first love and the break up afterwards. This is the perfect collection because all the poems are so relatable. The Last Time I’ll Write About You is such a beautiful poetry collection. I’m still new in the poetry genre but this is by far one of the best ones I have read. I cannot wait to read more of Dawn Lanuza’s work and here are the titles of my favourite poems: Sunbeam The Object Of My Truth And Now I’m Ruined Consistency 6 A.M. Other Means Of Communication Unasked Question Notice Of Eviction The Pensieve Aurora

A beautiful collection
This collection was breathtaking, simultaneously pleasantly hopeful and heartbreaking. It details the road to recovery after the heartbreak of a first love, something most can identify with and it was a beautiful journey to go on. Highly recommend.
