Burley Clay Universal Buff Bird Bath Set

I purchased this birdbath for it's looks and style including the color as it matches our home and shed closely. I asked how the bowl sat on the base and was told it only sits on top of it, which is correct and the flange that helps seat has only a small lip so it's not a firm fit. I also added two heavy smaller rocks in the bowl to help weight down and the bird don't seem to care. In fact some prefer to stand on them so they are not fully immersed. It takes a while for the birds to find the water source but once they do they keep coming back as it's very dry here in Northern N.M. I like the bath but think it could use some modification for the bowl attachment. I will soon be removing it because you can't leave out in freezing temps as the clay could crack without a heater. I find it enjoyable to watch all the different variety of birds that stop by to take a drink or bath.

love the color (there are several to choose from) loved the design and the price was good. the problem is the weight of the bowl....it's too light . a stray cat jumped on the bird bath to get a drink [that was fine with my old heavy birdbath] and the bowl fell off the base and cracked the base cause it hit the base [flowers around the birdbath caught the bowl luckily). had to glue the base with construction cement adhesive that doesnt match the buff birdbath and the bowl is now weighed down with heavier rocks than i had in it when the cat jumped on for a drink, also the bowl is not easy to level... gotta kinda put the pedestal/base in the ground crooked so when the bowl is full of water it sits even. so dont think its gonna be 5 minutes and fill the bowl up with water..... it takes a little figuring and weighing down of the bowl(i used 3 fist size sorta heavy rocks... the birds land on them so dont bury them in the water). good luck and if you could find a more meaty birdbath i'd buy that one!

I had a plastic bird bath but over the years became brittle cracked and would not hold water. So I thought I would try a ceramic or clay one. Since this product is probably mass produced the bowl on top did not fit right. Was not level; With in a week one morning I woke up to find the bowl lying on the ground broke in half. So I epoxy them together. When I went to put Bowl on stand would not sit on base with out wobbling so I epoxy the bowl to the base. Now after a week bowl has not been on the ground! If they could come up with an inter locking bowl to secure it to the base this would be a good product.

I like the design and the clay, but the top does not fit well to the base. After assembling and filling with water, I found the bowl lying on the ground the next morning. Fortunately, it was not broken. I secured the top to the base using a latex caulk and, so far, this has solved the problem. Installed a floating solar fountain which I centered using some river rocks. This is very attractive and I am enjoying the combination. I agree with the other person who wrote a review that suggested Burley Clay needs to do a better job fitting the bowl to the stand so it is secure.

Just received this bird bath and I love it. Very sturdy and a bit darker than pictured but I think I like that better. Classy look and pretty large and deep to host a group of birds or have a very large bird enjoy a full bath.Delivery was very fast, and it was packaged very good. Nothing is broken.. The birds will love it , and squirrels, I guess.

Very nice birdbath, however the paint is in a swirl up the base, the only thing that keeps it from 5 stars.

Very nice look and very durable. It came packed extremely well such that damage in shipping would be highly unlikely, and the price was right.

Packed very nicely. Would be fantastic in the yard as a nice sturdy bird bath, however I made a "table" out of mine for my sunroom. Turned out great!
