I've read another Dale Carnegie book and wanted to continue. I am glad I read THE 5 ESSENTIAL PEOPLE SKILLS: HOW TO ASSERT YOURSELF, LISTEN TO OTHERS, AND RESOLVE CONFLICTS. I was also happy to see this version has been updated to a contemporary version rather than the original. Carnegie and the author who updated the original tap into what is important in having people skills: communication. The lessons in this book gives readers the confidence to negotiate their business lives with others, whether in management or a colleague. The people skills will also help you in your personal relationships. I can't wait to read other books in this series. #CillasBookManiacs

Very worthwhile material. Enjoyed the read and learned a lot! I am reading about 11 communications skills and leadership books and this is definitely one that has clear and understandable principles and practical ways to become better at communicating. Doesn't have to be business related. Great for everyday conversations! Recommend!

Resolving conflicts is the part that resonates the most in this time and age. Do away with troubles and you are good to go anywhere of your choice! I recommend the book to anyone who wants to entertain in the garden of social intelligence and people's understanding. Without which all intellectual achievements mean nothing.

I really enjoyed reading Dale Carnegie literature its was very helpful and gave insight on how to approach an conversation effectively. I would recommended this book to anyone willing to build there communication skills.

Excellent read. Basic simple everyday points that make sense and are relevant. I used the strategies offered and practice them. It had made a difference in my life and the lives of those whom I have contact with on a daily basis.

Personally I really enjoyed this book. For one of my classes we were assigned to choose a book related back to our material and write a paper on it. I was beginning my first manager position so between my textbook and this book I found it very inspirational and influential. For those of you a bit more advanced than me I would find this book pretty boring and very repetitive to anything else you may have read. It seems like any other book and nothing really stands out to make it unique. BUT like I said, this was the first book I have read related to this topic so I loved it. I think if you are more advanced and decided to pick this book up it would be hard for you to finish but for me starting off as a manager it was exactly what I needed!

I purchase this product on the advice of my sister. Well I could not have made a better choice. Is unbelievable how relevant these issues are today as they were when Mr. Dale Carnegie wrote them. This is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am going to shared it with my son and my students. Motivational speakers may come and go, but Mr. Carnegie is an institution and rightly so. Is a most for someone who is looking to grow personally and be a professionally.

Great book, I recommend to anyone and everyone, no matter what career you're involved in. Great as a gift for yourself or anyone else.

Dale’s book is good first step to learn about communication and conflict resolution. It provides you with good examples and with good exercise to improve your assertiveness. Worth to read.
