The Bosch 32R was recommended by some friends who had bought theirs a couple of years back - they had nothing but kind words for theirs. The other reviewers on desertcart also gave good reviews which confirmed my decision. So - running through a few key points. * Price - good value for money when compared to the others. * Delivery time - as ever with desertcart - delivered on time, on the day specified. * Assembly - OK - this was a bit of a mental exercise. The instructions could have been a little clearer (Bosch - this is your job, and we're not talking simple like furniture - just a bit more detail would have been good), but after getting the parts all laid out, and studying the photos on the box (as well as the instructions) the process itself was simple enough. * Lawn mowing ability. The fact it has metal blades gave immediately good results and I'm expecting the good results to continue over a longer period of time than plastic blades would have. The catcher did a good job. I've not yet tried it on different height settings. My neighbour also borrowed it to cut much longer grass. Again - good results. Of course - it's limited to 30cm of actual cut - so if you've got a lot of lawn - something larger would be required. My lawn measures around 25 square metres - cutting it did not take long. * Other points - it's nice and *light* - which makes pushing it around a breeze, as well as packing it away after the lawn is done. * Conclusion - great mower. However the instruction manual, whilst full of helpful cautions does not include assembly instructions. So, you get all the bits out of the box and with your post-Covid brain fog, go through the pack twice looking for an exploded diagram.....nada, its not there! However, there aren't many bits and doesn't take long to figure where there rough positions ought to be from the picture on the box. In order to prevent dis-assembly down the line, I suggest that you slide the inner sleeves of the red bits intended to help store the power lead over the push arm tubes before you try and mount the outer posts over them....otherwise they wont go on. Yes a bit of a pain but don't let my moan put you off. Once assembled it does a great job on a small lawn. I like the metal cutting blade, much better than the plastic thingies on my Hover mower that it replaces. Oh, and out of the box its comes set in scalp mode so you might want to adjust the front wheels to a higher level of cut for your first mow of Spring! Grass box collects well, keep an ear out and empty when the mower sounds funny! It was awkward and my machine was clean when I tried it- with wet grass in the mix; what a pain. It would only really matter though if you regularly changed height. If you just have one setting then it’ll be fine. **Q: can't see anywhere the cutting heights ? my current push mower cuts down to 12mm but I'm fed up pushing and find hovers too heavy and unwieldy** A: Its 20 - 60mm. I bought this for my Mother and she says the shortest one is too short after the winter but just right in the summer. **Q: is it cordless** A: No it is not cordless, but it's a very good mower. **Q: Difference between “stand alone” and “32-12” ?? in the specifications???** A: So, after being baffled with the question myself - i ordered both. Key differences: 32 12 that I got - was manufactured in 2015, 32R in 2018. So seems 32 R is the later version 32 12 - does not have the 2 holders for the wiring wrapping when not in use. 32 R has them 32 12 - says 95 db noise level, 32R - 94 db - no real difference here TBH 32 12 - Made in China, 32 R - Made in Hungary 32 12 - Has a Green bin for grass collection, 32 R has back. 32 12 - says weight 8 kgs on the actual machine, as opposed to 6.1kg, advertised on Amazon. On both - you can extend the 2 year warranty to 3 years by registering the product on Bosch website. A nice light product and balances well from the carry handle in the middle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great little machine.!! *by N***E on 14 June 2013* I have struggled with a push and pull mower for a number of years, so I thought it better to buy one that gave more power to the elbow! So pleased I did. The machine arrived in excellent time well packaged and complete with all the necessary parts. Before you go assembling the machine check that everything is complete. Then read the instructions carefully and follow in a systematic way. If you do this you will not have any trouble at all. The only item that requires patience is the assembly of the grass box. I found the setting one portion on the floor and affixing the other the part the easiest way to assemble it. By positioning each lug just resting on the receiving slots and then gently easing them into the slots ensured that they locked into place quite easily. Make sure that you do not secure one lug incorrectly otherwise it will probably be a devil to unlock it, by that I mean the lug is not outside or inside of the box rather than onto the receiving slot. What about the efficiency of the mower. Providing you do not have a huge amount of grass to cut this should be adequate for most lawns. It cuts well right to the edges and does give a stripe effect. The cable holder is a useful addition as it tends to keep the cable itself in tidy state without you constantly tripping over the thing! It light to handle and is reasonably quiet. Although the machine is small in itself by not having a fold down handle it does take up a fair amount of room in the shed. You can undo the securing nuts and store separately, but as I live in the far north of England you are often gald to get out of the rain without having to mess around taking the handles off each time you use it.!
