UPDATE: (2023) Still using my original shade on my Tommy Bahama chair.Still works,slightly faded from the hot sun here,but withstands high winds and provides solid shade.STILL very happy with it.Provides better shade than an umbrella as far as getting any sunburn,probably because it’s closer to your head and face than an umbrella.So if you have sensitive skin on your face or chest,use this under your umbrella for extra protection.Better than a hat,no itchy scalp,no sweaty head, great air flow.I’m a long time beach sitter,and this is my most valued possession.2020:Fit on my Tommy bahama chair perfect,however,my husband who is tall,6’3....it wouldn’t quite go up high enough because of the lay down bar on the chair.This is excellent in wind,doesn’t budge.Just snaps on the fabric covered aluminum chair tubing as shown in photos.I bought a back up for guests I love it so much.We go to watch the high surf and whales and it’s nice to not have to lug down the umbrellas etc. I use both this and an umbrella on warm Hawaiian summer days.GREAT product,I was NOT paid or compensated for a review,just a person who loves this.

I’ve bought multiples of these. I have one for each of our chairs. My friends have all bought these after seeing mine. Shades your entire upper body. Easily attaches to your chair and folds flat for storage.

If you love being outside, maybe getting some sun, but have a need for shade, this is really the best little addition to your beach chair EVER! I have multiple reasons to use this, such as taking medication that carries a notice of sun exposure causing a reaction, having an autoimmune disorder that causes my face to be red all the time anyway but gets exacerbated by sunlight (seriously, I look like a lobster), and wanting to be able to relax without having to wear a hat or visor 100% of the time to keep the sun out of my eyes and face. Helps cool you down a little without having the sun beating down on your head, too. I loved this so much I bought a second one for our other chair and talk about it to everyone I meet while using it. Easy to snap on to most beach chairs, and has such a tight fit that it doesn't slip off or move around, at all. Could be a little hard to remove from the chair for someone without a bit of strength or with poor grip (have a helper to do that if necessary, but it is not a deal breaker for me).My kids are not little any more but I could see it being helpful for kids who are taking a break from the water and need a break from the sun as well or for napping. Highly recommend and wish I'd had this years ago!

I bought this for use on my Rio brand beach chair and Rio brand lounger. Both were the backpack versions. The connection piece on the shade is way too large and doesn’t attach to the chair or the lounger, despite both being the same Rio brand. Pretty surprising considering they’re from the same company.

Everyone on my beach is jealous. No big umbrella needed this shades my face and actually the top of my legs too.

Attaches to any beach chair. A must have for heat and sun protection. The adjustability allows for custom coverage. I've used on for years and cannot recommend enough.
