Doesn't work over 75% of the time...
I've had this plug for almost 2 years. It is an absolute waste of money. It constantly disconnects itself from my wi-fi and needs to be reconfigured. To make matters worse this means it disconnects from my Alexa and needs to be reset there as well. Pretty useless when 75% of the time I ask Alexa to control this plug she taunts me, "hmmmm, this device doesnt appear to be working." It is so aggravating that I am taking time away from putting my kids to sleep (they listen to me about as well as this plug) to write this review so others dont come to know my frustrations. Also, as an fyi the device is within15 feet of my router, so it isnt a signal issue.

Works as it should, but takes up two outlets instead of one
I have used a lot of different smart plugs, but mostly used TP-Link and Wemo brands. I got this Heiman brand smart plug because of how cheap it was and because it works with Amazon's Alexa. It's pretty straightforward to set up. You download the app and follow the instructions. Installed without a hitch.The main negative about this smart plug is that it still takes up two plug outlets reducing standard two-outlet units to one outlet connected to a smart plug. Most other brands now have changed their design to only take up one plug, but the HeiMan Smart Plug still takes up the space of two outlets.

Great little device!!!
Had a little trouble getting it set up, but once I got it going, it worked great. I like the having the ability to control my plug from my Amazon Echo, android mobile phone, and Apple iPad. I also like the being able to measure the amount of power being used by the plugged in device. Simple design and operation.

Great alternative to more expensive brands
Directions were easy to follow, but there was nothing on connecting to Echo and Alexa. Luckily, I bought another device a few months ago, so I knew what to do. Still, this smart plug was considerably cheaper and works just as well.
