Side Roof Rails Installation
I gave it a four because there are no instructions and the nylon washers for water sealing are the wrong size.I wasted an hour figuring out how it fit. I will save you that time. When unpacking the left and right side mounts the foam packing is inserted between the cover and the mount. Carefully pull the plastic cover away about 1/8 inch from the mount and they will unclip on each side. Grabbing the foam might make it easier to pull them out a little. There are two short mounts and two long mounts. The long mounts go in the front. Take the side rails and insert them in the front and back mounts and use the Phillips screws to secure them. I don' t think you can do it wrong. Set this all aside while you prep the car. Get a small stool and screwdriver. I suggest you do one side completely at a time. i suggest you clean the car top under the entire area where the rails will sit. There are four plastic covers to remove and they have arrows to show which way to push them to get them to unclip. I used a screwdriver and pushed them in the direction of the arrows and lifted up the edge and they came off fine. Under the cover there are two 10mm bolts holding down the cover clip assembly. Completely loosen those bolts and then use the screwdriver or something to carefully pry up the two ends of the clip mount. There are black rubber seals underneath that will probably tear when you remove the clip assembly. They must be there to keep water out. Remove whatever is left of the black seal that is on the car so you have a clean surface. Use some cloth and water to clean the area up so no dirt is present where the mounts will be installed. You will see two plastic sleeves that stick up and the nut threads in center. You don't want to mash those when you install the rails. Pick up one of the rail assemblies and put it in place in the mount spots. Look down from above and see if you can position the mount so the opening in the mount is outside the plastic sleeve. Move it around so it looks clear and then go check the other end to see if it is clear also. Better find out now whether you need to do a little pushing around to get clearance when you finally install the mount. Remove the rail and check each large rubber seal (the part that sits on the car top) on each end to see if the three or four little rubber lock tabs are engaged completely in the bottom of the mount. If not, spit on them to lubricate and press them firmly into their holes. You are ready to mount the rails. Since the nylon washers didn't fit I used Silicone to put around the outside of the plastic sleeves and about 1/4 inch out so the mount would sit in the silicone and hopefully keep water from running inside the car. When you have Silicone around all four plastic sleeves, carefully position the assembled rail assembly over the holes then look down inside to make any back and forth adjustments so the plastic sleeves don't get crushed when you install the bolts. Use a 12mm socket and tighten the bolts. You can tell when they are tight. Install the plastic covers and for me it was easier to seat the inside first then push down on the outside. There is a little plastic guide pin that fits in the side rail to help you position the cover. After a few tries the cover locked in place fine. You are finished. I suggest you put all the left over hardware you removed in a plastic bag and label it. That way when you forget the rack is up there with a bike on it and you drive into the garage and rip it all off, you can remove the roof rails and put it back like it was and no one will ever know. Having done this once, I figure I could do the whole thing in 30 minutes our less now. I strongly recommend the folks selling this on Amazon put out an installation youtube video and some written instructions with pictures. Have fun.

It's for a first Android Car Stereo
I've had this for a year now and I was really happy with it when I first installed it. It fit my Camry perfectly. It was made to fit perfectly. There were no instructions so it took a little longer to install but it was pretty straight forward if you ever put a car stereo in. I had to make some changes with a few screws that didn't fit but everything worked out great. After I was done installing the unit, it worked great. The sound was decent. The touch screen worked great. There were a bunch of pre-installed apps. I was able to connect to my phone's hotspot and download other apps. One thing I didn't like was the home screen. You couldn't add apps on to the home screen. They had a few app shortcuts up there that you couldn't change. It lets you add widgets but it never shows up anywhere. They also had their own proprietory I guess Toyota android OS. I've had it for a year now and I still can't update it.I was able to add a rear camera that worked pretty well. I have the built-in lines on my camera and so does this stereo but you can't turn off either of them so now I have two sets of lines.A few weeks ago the Google play store started shutting off and kept giving me errors. I couldn't update anything. So I just turned disabled it and now I'm stuck with the apps I have. The Bluetooth and still works good tho. The mic for it is actually pretty good. I can talk normal and whoever is on the other line can hear me fine.I think it's time to get a better stereo. Once I have some time I will start researching to buy a better one. This one was pretty good to start with but it went downhill after a few months.I helped a friend install a 10.1 inch Android 9.1 in his car 2 weeks ago. The OS for this one is like being on a tablet. Looks a lot better than this one and had a lot more options

Easy install
I bought the rails for a 2013 SE Highlander and they fit perfectly. They are silver and are an identical match to the factory silver of our Highlander. This order came with rubber washers that fit, stick on gaskets, and tube of RTV sealant. I did have to apply some weight on the front set of screws to get the threads started. I bought the Cross Bars from the same vendor and they work great with this set of rails. It took me less than an hour to install both the rails and the crossbars. I haven't loaded anything on them yet but everything felt very solid and well built to me. Robert Lee has written pretty good instructions and how to assemble them was pretty easy to figure out while on the go.

Great product, poor packaging and instructions.
Follow the instructions from Robert Lee, he's spot on. If you can operate a wrench and a screw driver you should be able to do this install. This package is bare bones, they give you the parts and that's it. Well, in my case that's not entirely true. The package arrived damaged and there was no hardware. I don't know who's fault this is, but not much care was given packaging this together. That said, with a trip to the hardware store I had everything I needed. I spent about $20 on some metric hardware and I was all set. Thank goodness Home depot hasn't put all our neighborhood hardware stores out of business. Even with the $20 hardware I was still far below the cost that Toyota wanted at $500-$1000 and with about 30 minutes of work (thanks to Robert's notes and time saving advice) I was up and running.

Easy to install / High quality
I read the reviews about installation and I have to say they misled at least me. I literally installed these roof rails in 30 minutes and they fit perfectly. 2013 Toyota Highlander Base. They look great and the material is high quality. Only minor problem I had was installing the plastic covers. Use a flat head screw driver and you'll be just fine. If you're even mildly mechanically inclined, you'll have absolutely no problem with these. Piece of cake.
