Exactly as described very powerful. The only complaint I have is it's very difficult to connect the battery to the base charger to charge you have to finagle with it quite a bit to get it just right. Kind of a pain. Other than than it works great.

Got it in the mail today just in time for my weekly mowing. I had bought Brand new and dumped a Greenworks duel string trimmer two weeks ago that jammed about 6 times in 30 minutes. I unpackaged this B&D today charged the battery while I mowed. Charges a little slow it was only 1/3 full after an hour or so. I put it in the trimmer with only 1/3 battery life and proceeded to trim through my half acre lawn edges without running out of battery and with zero jamming. It was a tremendous experience. I love this thing! Imagine what it can do on a full charge. Will it work for a farmer who’s mowing down alfalfa? Probably not but for the homeowner who just needs to make his yard look nice this is the one! I agree with some other reviews that is could be a little taller (6-12”), and the battery takes a while to charge but that’s a small price to pay for such a durable well designed trimmer that gets the job done so quickly and without any hassle. Handle is super grippy, auto feed is great, Lightweight, 40v is plenty of power, no cords to deal with, etc. Five stars!

Great light weight trimmer and it was quiet compared to my old Worx. 2 features that I really miss from my Worx that would make this trimmer fantastic.... add wheels so that you can trim under bushes and other things in your yard that cannot be moved. and the battery...awful! 40V doesnt mean anything with out the battery amp hours and the battery they include only has 1.5ah which gave me 15 minutes of use... and my battery was fully charged overnight. my worx battery was a 40V 4.0ah and it lasted almost an hour...big difference! I missed that on the specification page when I was ordering a new trimmer. If you are wondering why I just didnt order another Worx trimmer, I did and had to return it. They have totally cheaped out on their product durability and it was broken when I opened the box. I saw other possible areas on the worx trimmer that would break easy too. my old worx trimmer was made with more durable material and lasted almost 8 years; so I thought I would give this black decker trimmer a try. I think this trimmer works great but i think black+decker needs to treat their customers better and give them a quality battery as well...not this worthless one that is included with the trimmer. and by the way the charger is very cheap too and hard to get the battery on and off.

Used my new B&D weedeater today. So convenient to have battery instead of cord. Also appreciate the ability to customize the height of the device - no stooping over causing back pain.

Easy to use. Great product for the price. Great product for cutting grass. Very light weight.

Love this Trimmer. The battery is still keeping a full charge a year later. The sting does not go out fast. It feeds just perfectly.

Great for an amateur like me, but WEAR YOUR GOGGLES, people! A small stone (or something that seemed like a small stone) bounced up and hit me on the eyelid while using, and during the rare time when I didn't wear my goggles. Completely my fault -- should have worn safety goggles. This thing works so well, but the included battery and charger failed (the red light blinked) after about a year and 3 months of use, so I can't use any more.

I am a fan. Trimmer gets 5 stars - the charger gets no stars. Hence, the 4 star review. This is my third B&D trimmer in 10 years. I ask a lot of my trimmers as there is a lot of different types of trimming to be done on our multi acre property, from grass to light brush. This trimmer has reasonably stood up to the tasks. I like that it is light weight. I have a heavy duty Ryobi for heavy brush so I particularly enjoy the ease of using the B&D. Thankfully I have the original large charger because when I ordered this new LST140 40V model it came with a small charger that did not work, or even stand up for that matter. It kept falling over when the battery was inserted so I just tried charging the battery with the charger on its side - just red flashing lights ad infinatum. so I tossed it and am using my old charger. Other than that, this is a reliable and fun to use trimmer.

Charge lasts a long time. Takes a while to recharge battery. Does a great job and is quiet and efficient. Would recommend this product

I love this trimmer. It works well, I like the autofeed, and also the 40Volts of power is a big plus. It may not be the best brand on the market, but excellent for the price point.

Edit: The manufacturer replaced the battery promptly and without a fuss. The trimmer is easy to use, performs as expected and the battery lasts for about 30 - 40 minutes. Just received my new string trimmer. Plugged in the battery to charge and within minutes the indicator light was flashing red. The manual says this is due to a defective battery. I'm so disappointed. I have contacted product support. Depending on the response I get I will happily change my star rating after I've had a chance to actually use the trimmer.

I've used many whipper snippers over the years and this one is by far the best. It not only provides excellent battery power but is light and easy to use. I like the extension feature that allows you to adjust the length to suit your height. I highly recommend this product which comes with a spool of line and battery charger.

Waste of money. Bought this a year ago and the motor bearings have already let go and vibrates when in use. My other black and decker which lasted for quite a few years had a variable power setting and could be set to the lowest setting and still worked fine, which also lasted me a few years before the plastic drive gear wore out and stripped. This newer model has one speed and its wide open. RPM is way too high wearing out the motor and using most of the batteries power in no time. Another thing is the very cheaply made charger and battery that comes with this model. The battery after being fully charged never lasts longer than a few minutes before it dies. The battery feels and looks cheaper and the charger is junk. After many years of using Black and Decker tools I will never buy another Black and Decker tool again.
