However if you mean, could a child open it, they could. **Q: Where is it manufactured?** A: It doesn't say on the knife where it's made , but I can tell you that it's of good quality and very sharp . Superb little key ring or pocket knife. **Q: Is it a slip joint? Is it stiff enough closing to not be a finger trap?** A: I received mine yesterday 23rd December 2022. I’m physically disabled with the use of only my right hand and needed a knife for opening packages mainly. It has a very strong opening and closing action which with a bit of manipulation I can manage ok one handed, and open or closed it is secure. When able bodied, I had a lot of high quality knives as a Contractor engaged in deer Management as you couldn’t really stop work to sharpen knives. Frankly, I’m surprised by this knife, as the quality appears to be knocking on the door of what were very expensive properly hardened and tempered high carbon steel blades. The blade had a decent edge on arrival, such that it’s not worth even giving it a touch up with my High Temperature Fired Sapphire Ceramic fine sharpening Stone. Suitability For Heavy Work, obviously I can no longer Test it with, but reviews say the do keep an edge well, as a,ways, I suppose as long as they are sharpened correctly. If for backup for doing real work with Knives, at the Current Price, I would recommend getting at least a couple.
