It is not wooden, it has a paper-like veneer. After a few days, light is too dim to see at a small distance.

We got this just to use as a clock in the bedroom because our new cable box has no display. It was easy to figure out how to set the time and the alarm by clicking "set" and then "up" or "down" which takes you through setting up the time, whether you want 12H or 24H, and the date. I didn't see an option to pick fahrenheit over celsius and it defaults to celsius. I didn't even remember that it displayed the temperature. The clock display cycles through the time, date, and temp. I didn't want that and checked the very tiny instructions to see if they provide such guidance (they don't) and saw something about - and I'm serious - dropping the unit on the floor and on the stairs! - not as a caution NOT to, or what to do if you accidentally do that - but as an actual direction as if that's what you should do! Hysterical. Once I saw that I realized the instructions would likely not be helpful and they are not. I know there are helpful tips here which I will check out to see how to change the display. I looked at a zillion LED clocks before buying this and this a cool looking little clock and the blue lighted display is not too bright for the bedroom at night so we're happy with it.

Here’s the deal, this little cube is little. I love it for that. I use it in my bathroom and it’s great, BUT you have to leave it plugged in! Yes it’ll work and be bright with batteries for a few days but after that it’ll grow dim and die. Also when I say bright I mean BRIGHT.Now, with that being said, I deducted some stars for a few main things. One, the chord is black. I mean come on, if I’m buying a white “xyz” then the power chord should match (in my opinion)Second, the chord is SHORT. Comically short. So I ended up having to buy another chord because I was out of the return window on the clock and damnit I like it...Last but not least, this needs an option to only show time, not rotate time date and temp. I don’t need all that all the time but it’s a bathroom clock so it’s whatever. If it were in my bedroom I’d find it highly distracting.Let me know if this ridiculously long review was helpful by voting :)Thanks!

It took less than 5 minutes to get this clock unboxed and ready to use. I have it plugged directly into my cable boxes’ USB port and it powers it up just fine. It is about the size of a jewelry ring box to get an idea of the true size.While not complicated, I can understand some people’s complaints about the directions. It’s basically two wordy paragraphs to set up every function, and just not laid out well, in addition to being printed on a very small sheet of paper. In any case, it still took less than five minutes to set the time, date, temp setting and brightness settings.The only issue which I see is there are supposed to be two display modes, one with time/temp and the other time/temp/date. My clock only seems to display only the time (which is really all I want), or time/temp/date. Not a real big deal for me, as all I really wanted was a nifty looking small clock that matched my furniture, and connected via a USB connector. So in that respect it met all my goals.If the instructions were printed larger, and the wording more clearly laid out, I bet it would make everyone happy. I will simply blame this on poor translation of Chinese instructions.

it looks kinda flimsy , but has surprising number of features inside that low priced beautiful looking box :) has 3 alarm settings, settings to change the clock, settings for 12 or 24 hour format, 3 dimming settings, a setting to save power by not glowing for long periods and will wake up when you disturb it! also can operate on power or dc 5v. also settings to show temperature in celcius or fahrenheight. also a setting to cycle through date/time/temp vs just time. so amazing for under 9 bux. it looks beautiful that is why i got it. (ps if you find that the clock seems like it is broken and doesnt glow unless you shake it, most likely it is because you have to switch it to the "--:SD" instead of "On:SD" by pressing the down button i think. play around with it)
